Help us find the families who can change a child’s life
At Compass Community, everything we do is centred around creating better outcomes for children and young people.
Our Foster Parent Recruitment team plays an important part in making that possible. Every foster parent starts their journey with an enquiry – and the experience they receive from that very first conversation matters.
We’re looking for a Foster Parent Recruitment Administrator to help guide prospective foster parents through their journey from initial enquiry through assessment and ultimately to fostering panel.
This is much more than an administration role. You’ll be a consistent and reassuring point of contact for people considering one of the biggest and most rewarding decisions of their lives, while ensuring the recruitment and assessment process continues to move forward efficiently.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll take ownership of the administration behind our foster parent recruitment and assessment pipeline, working closely with applicants, assessors and our wider fostering teams.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Acting as a central point of contact for prospective foster parents throughout their recruitment and assessment journey.
- Providing a warm, professional and responsive experience from initial enquiry through to panel.
- Keeping in regular contact with applicants so they understand what is happening, what is needed from them and what comes next.
- Managing the administration for active foster parent assessments.
- Sending and tracking assessment documentation, checks and references.
- Proactively chasing outstanding information to keep applications progressing.
- Preparing accurate and complete documentation ahead of fostering panel.
- Monitoring timescales and identifying anything that could delay an assessment.
- Escalating delays or concerns to the Panel and Assessment Manager when required.
- Holding regular progress updates with the Panel and Assessment Manager or Advanced Practitioner.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date information across our digital systems.
- Working in line with safeguarding, GDPR and organisational requirements.
- Contributing to team meetings and working collaboratively with colleagues across Compass Community Fostering Services.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
