About the Role

Are you an experienced social work professional ready to take the next step in your management career? We are looking for a Team Manager to join Five Rivers Child Care on a 12-month maternity cover contract, supporting our established North fostering service and helping us continue turning children’s lives around every day.

Based from our Doncaster office, with flexibility to work from home when agreed, you will manage our Doncaster South Team. This team covers South Yorkshire and the wider Lincolnshire region (as far south as Donington & Skegness).

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership qualities, sound fostering knowledge and a genuine passion for improving outcomes for children, young people and foster carers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Doncaster South Team.
  • Support the continued development and quality of the service.
  • Attend carer connection groups, training sessions and managers’ meetings.
  • Provide vision, energy, and confident leadership.

Requirements

  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Hold a recognised social work qualification.
  • Hold a management or leadership qualification or be willing to undertake relevant training.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
