Foundation Apprenticeships
Foundation apprenticeships are introductory courses that help young people get started in an industry. You do not need to have any specific qualifications or experience to apply.
Who Can Apply
- Anyone between 16 and 21 can start a foundation apprenticeship.
- If you're between 22 and 24, you can start if you:
- Have an EHC plan
- Are in care or have been in care
- Are in prison or have been in prison
Wage
- £14,560 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

Training Course
- Finishing trades foundation apprenticeship (level 2)
Hours
- Monday - Friday, times to be confirmed. 35 hours a week

What You'll Do at Work
- Prepare floors (cleaning, levelling, removing old materials)
- Check surface quality and finish to specification
- Follow health and safety procedures on site
- Learn about and maintain tools and equipment
- Communicate with customers and supervisors
- Keep work areas clean and organised

- Unit C E Huxley Close, Plymouth, PL7 4JN
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.
