Foundation Apprenticeships
Foundation apprenticeships are introductory courses that help young people get started in an industry. You do not need to have any specific qualifications or experience to apply.
Eligibility
- Anyone between 16 and 21 can start a foundation apprenticeship.
- If you're between 22 and 24, you can start if you:
- Have an EHC plan
- Are in care or have been in care
- Are in prison or have been in prison

Job Details
Wage
- £18,720 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

Training
- Course: Finishing trades foundation apprenticeship (level 2)
- Provider: GREENLIGHT TRAINING LIMITED
- Training schedule: Level 2 Painting & Decorating Apprenticeship Standard
- Location: Greenlight Training Ltd will be the training provider, and you will need to attend their training centre in Bedminster, Bristol 4 days per month.
Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
- 45 hours a week

Work Responsibilities
- Prepare the work area safely providing dust sheets and protection to furniture and adjacent surfaces
- Select, use, maintain and store, paint, tools, wallcoverings, spray equipment, steps, ladders, and towers safely
- Make the most efficient and effective use of resources, time, and materials
- Identify different building methods e.g. steel frame, reinforced concrete frame, traditional solid wall, cavity wall, block, and dry lined which determine the appropriate paint products and specifications
