The Flywheel

www.theflywheel.studio is recruiting exceptional founders to build category-defining companies at the intersection of AI and industrial real-economy sectors: Manufacturing, Defense, and Energy. We are looking for passionate entrepreneurs with first-hand knowledge of the problem(s) they have encountered in these sectors.

The Flywheel is a next-generation venture studio dedicated to building profitable, technologically differentiated, industrial AI companies. Traditional venture capital funds wait for founders and exceptional companies to emerge before they deploy capital. We take a different approach that strengthens the entire innovation ecosystem, by actively building and co-creating companies with outlier entrepreneurs to reduce early risk, accelerate validation, and help transformative ideas reach investability and scale faster.

As a Founder-in-Residence (FiR), you will be paid while validating, designing, and launching a new venture with hands-on support from experienced founders, operators, engineers, and industry partners.

The Role

As a Founder-in-Residence, you will work closely with The Flywheel team to identify, validate, and build a venture that leverages AI to accelerate productivity and efficiency in one of our core domains:

  • Manufacturing & Supply Chains
  • Defense & Security
  • Energy & Sustainability

You will operate as the future CEO or CTO of a company formed during or after the program. This is a highly entrepreneurial role for individuals ready to build a 0–1 company with structured support and capital.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
