Founder | Fourteen Group | UK Recruitment
You've spent years billing at the top of your desk. You know your market cold, you've built relationships that follow you between roles, and you've had the same thought more than once: I could do this myself.
About Fourteen
Fourteen Group is a hybrid VC firm that invests exclusively in UK recruitment start-ups. We back proven recruiters to launch their own brand, in their own market, with the full weight of an experienced team behind them.
You bring the market knowledge, the billing pedigree, and the drive. We bring the capital, the infrastructure, and a leadership team that has built and scaled recruitment businesses before.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You will launch and lead your own recruitment business, backed by Fourteen from day one. In practice, that means running your own desk and brand, winning your own clients, and building your own team, with the commercial freedom to shape the business around the market you know best.
What sets this apart from going alone is the support around you. We run the entire back office, providing dedicated experts across Talent, Marketing, Operations, Compliance, L&D and Tech, so your focus stays on billing and building your team.
You will report to no one but yourself on the business itself, while drawing on direct access to a leadership team that has built and scaled recruitment businesses before. And you will hold a genuine ownership stake in what you create, with the majority share retained by you.

Who this is for
You're likely a senior 360 biller with a strong, recent track record. You know your market deeply enough that you could name your first ten clients right now. You've probably managed or mentored others and you're commercially sharp about what actually drives fee income.
Most importantly, you've got the founder itch. You want ownership, not just a bigger commission scheme. You're willing to back yourself, and you're looking for a VC partner to support you through the journey.
