ABOUT IONETIC

IONETIC is a software-accelerated battery pack technology company, on a mission to make electrification possible and compelling for every manufacturer on the planet. Our platform, Arc, generates a production-ready pack configuration in minutes rather than months, and takes hardware into series production three times faster than traditional approaches. We build packs for automotive, bus, marine and off-highway customers, from our R&D lab in London and our Battery Fabrication and Industrialisation Centre in Brackley.

THE ROLE

This is the closest seat in the company to the CEO. You will work alongside him on whatever matters most to the business that week, across business development, strategy, marketing and commercial operations.

The role runs on trust and judgement. You will be handed real problems and the room to solve them: shaping a commercial decision, building the case for entering a new market, preparing the material that goes to customers, the board and investors, and carrying the outcomes of the CEO's meetings through to a result. You will be given an objective rather than a method, and you will be expected to come back with a view of your own.

It is also a rare vantage point. You will see how a company is actually run, from the first customer conversation through to the board pack, and you will be in the room while the decisions get made.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Take commercial and strategic questions from a standing start to a recommendation the leadership team can act on.
  • Own the outcomes of the CEO's meetings and drive them to a conclusion across the business.
  • Build the presentations and written material that go to customers, partners, the board and investors.
  • Work live business development alongside the CEO: target research, meeting preparation, follow-up, and an honest CRM behind it.
  • Represent IONETIC with customers, suppliers and partners.
  • Create outbound marketing material, including LinkedIn content, flyers and campaign assets.
  • Keep a working view of the market and competitive landscape, enough to sharpen decisions rather than produce reports for their own sake.
  • Pick up the projects that matter and have no obvious owner yet. The list changes as the company does.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You will be working with an ambitious team in a growing start-up. We want self-starters who are comfortable with a clean sheet and want to get involved everywhere. Judgement and drive matter more to us than years on a CV.

  • High agency. You are given an outcome, not a method, and you find a way to get there.
  • Fast and reliable. Things you pick up get finished, and you say early when they will not.
  • A clear communicator. Sharp written work, confident with senior people inside and outside the company.

You can structure a messy problem and reach a defensible answer.

A board presentation one day and a customer problem the next, without losing quality on either.

This is an early career role. We expect you to be a recent graduate, or one to three years into your career in consulting, finance, engineering, a start-up or a commercial role, and looking for more scope than your current seat gives you. A degree in any field, with STEM, Business or Economics preferred. Strong PowerPoint and Excel. A valid UK driving licence is preferred for business travel, and you must be willing to travel domestically and internationally as the role requires. An interest in electric vehicles or batteries is a bonus, not a requirement.

WHAT WE WILL GIVE YOU

  • Direct access to the CEO and leadership team. You are in the room for decisions most people at your stage only read about afterwards.
  • A career, not a placement. This is a permanent role with no fixed ceiling. Where it leads depends on what you show us you can run.
  • Real responsibility. You will own work that reaches customers, the board and investors, with your name on it.
  • Support around you. Experienced advisors, specialist contractors and our senior team are available to you, not held in reserve.
  • A view of the whole business. Commercial, technical, operational and financial, in one role.

WORKING AT IONETIC

IONETIC operates a flexible-always-in policy. This means we expect you to be in the office every day, but if you need to arrive late, leave early, or just stay at home for some reason, that is okay too.

The role is based in London and the location flexes with the work. Expect frequent travel, including regular time at our Midlands sites, at customers and at industry events.

We endeavour to provide a great working environment with market competitive salaries. In addition, our full-time employees receive share options in the company, so you truly own part of our growth and success.
