Founding Account Executive

Location: London (Hybrid) · Type: Full-time · Reports to: CEO / Head of Commercial

About the Company

We're hiring for an early-stage, VC-backed RegTech startup building an AI-driven platform that automates content review for regulated businesses. They're backed by top tier investors, and already working with leading financial institutions.

The Role

As first Account Executive, you'll own the full sales cycle end-to-end — from qualifying inbound and self-sourced opportunities through to close — and help build the commercial playbook from scratch. This is a founding, hands-on sales role for someone who wants to shape go-to-market at a fast-growing seed-stage company.

What You'll Do

  • Run full-cycle sales: prospecting, discovery, demos, negotiation, and close for mid-market and enterprise financial services accounts
  • Build and iterate on outbound and inbound sales processes, messaging, and pricing/packaging as you learn what resonates
  • Partner closely with the founders on positioning, ICP definition, and early customer feedback loops
  • Manage a pipeline through CRM discipline and forecast accurately
  • Represent the company at industry events and in customer conversations, acting as a trusted advisor to compliance, marketing, and legal stakeholders

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of closing experience in B2B SaaS, ideally at an early-stage startup (pre-Series B) or in a founding/first-AE capacity
  • Comfortable selling into regulated industries (financial services, fintech, insurance, or similar) or a strong appetite to learn that world quickly
  • Track record of consistently hitting or exceeding quota in a full-cycle role
  • Highly self-directed — energised by ambiguity and building process rather than following one
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders (compliance, marketing, legal)
