About us

Mahogany Hospitality Group is a pre-seed luxury beauty services company. We place professional makeup artistry into hospitality environments — hotels and other hospitality spaces — meeting guests where they already are, at the moment they most want to look and feel their best.

We are early by design. We are validating the model through a sequence of proof-of-concept activations, each one built to prove a different part of the thesis and to produce evidence we can take to operators and investors. Every event teaches us something, and everything we learn goes back into the model.

About the role

This is the technology and data seat on our founding advisory group. It is a combination of advisory and hands-on stewardship — you will help set the direction, and then you will be the person who carries it.

We have the strategy work in place: a phased technology and data strategy, build-versus-buy analysis, and a view on the platforms that will carry us through the next eighteen months. What we need now is someone to own it — to sequence it, defend it, deliver it, and change it when it turns out to be wrong.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

To be clear about scope: there is no coding and no testing in this role. But everything else is there, with the first step being building the roadmap.

What you will own

  • The technology and data roadmap end to end — from strategy on the page to something working in the field
  • Sequencing and prioritisation: what we buy now, what we defer, what we never build
  • Vendor selection and stewardship — RFQs, technical due diligence, commercial and NDA input, and the ongoing relationship
  • The client-journey stack across booking, payments, and client records — stood up before each activation and instrumented so the activation produces usable data
  • The data strategy: what we capture, how consent is obtained, how it is stored, and how it becomes a commercial asset rather than a liability
  • Privacy and security posture across US jurisdictions, including a credible path to enterprise-grade assurance as hospitality partners begin to ask for it
  • Technical credibility in partner and investor conversations, where our data thesis is central
  • Holding the line on cost and reversibility — an early-stage stack should be cheap to run and cheap to abandon

What we are looking for

  • Senior technology leadership experience — CTO, CPTO, Head of Data, or founding-engineer background
  • Someone who has taken a company from nothing to a working stack, with a strong bias toward assembling proven tools over building anything
  • Real data strategy experience, ideally where data was treated as a product and not just as reporting
  • Fluency with US privacy and consent regimes, particularly where client imagery or biometric data may be involved
  • Comfort being the only technical voice in the room, and translating for a non-technical founding team without condescension
  • Willingness to do the work: write the document, run the vendor call, chase the integration
  • Exposure to consumer services, hospitality tech, or retail tech is an advantage, not a requirement

Terms

This is an equity-only founding advisory role, carrying a generous grant. The commitment we are looking for is commensurate with that generosity — this is not a quarterly check-in. Remote on the EST timezone is preferable, with occasional presence at activations.
