We’re hiring a Founding Engineer at General Intelligence Holdings.

GIH is building an AI-native professional-services group, beginning with UK accountancy.

Our thesis is simple: AI will transform traditional industries from the inside out.

The critical ingredients are not only the models. They are proprietary data, domain expertise, workflow ownership and the ability to implement change inside real businesses.

We are acquiring accountancy firms, rebuilding their workflows around AI and turning real operational work into evaluation environments that continuously improve the system.

We already have:

  • An accountancy design partner
  • Applied, our platform for deploying AI agents into firms
  • Franklin & McGrath, our simulated accountancy firm for testing and evaluating agents before they touch live clients
  • Our first acquisition process underway
  • A £3.5 million fundraising process beginning in September

We now need an exceptional Founding Engineer to own product engineering and deployment.

Your first eight weeks will focus on a tightly defined MVP:

  • Integrating Applied with our design partner’s Xero environment
  • Deploying production workflows for bookkeeping and automated document chasing
  • Building the human approval and exception-handling system
  • Instrumenting accuracy, adoption and time saved
  • Turning accountant corrections into evaluations and product improvements
  • Establishing the deployment playbook we can repeat across acquired firms

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You will work directly with the founder, our technical architect and practising accountants.

You will own the full product stack, from integrations and agent orchestration to user interfaces, observability and evaluation. You will spend time inside real workflows, ship quickly and help build the engineering team after the fundraise.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has personally shipped and operated substantial production software
  • Is an exceptional full-stack product engineer
  • Is strong in Python or TypeScript, APIs, data systems and cloud infrastructure
  • Understands LLMs, tool use, agent workflows, evaluations and reliability
  • Can translate messy operational processes into simple, dependable products
  • Wants founder-level responsibility rather than a narrowly defined engineering role

You may have worked at a company such as Ramp, Palantir, Stripe, Harvey, Linear, ElevenLabs or an exceptional early-stage startup. Pedigree is not required, but that level of product and engineering quality is.

Accountancy experience is useful but not essential. Curiosity, speed and ownership are.

Terms:

  • Initial commitment of 15 to 20 hours per week for eight weeks
  • 0.25% equity on acceptance of the agreed MVP
  • Following funding, conversion to a full-time role with a choice of:
    • £95,000 salary plus 3.5% equity
    • £110,000 salary plus 2.5% equity
  • The initial 0.25% counts towards the total equity award
  • The remaining equity vests over four years
  • UK-based and remote-first, with regular time alongside the team and operating firms

To apply, send me a LinkedIn message with:

  1. A short introduction
  2. Links to your GitHub or work you have shipped
  3. One production system you personally owned and what you built
  4. Your availability for the initial eight-week build

This is an opportunity to become the technical co-creator of a company rebuilding an entire industry around AI.
