Business Development Representative / BDR / GTM
At Wave Talent, we don't want to consume any more of your time trying to decipher job descriptions to identify the information you need. Instead, we spoke with you all to understand the key information you'd like to know about a job position before you enter the process.
Hopefully, you'll find this listed below and if the job role sounds like it could be up your street; we'd love to arrange a chat to give you more info.
We've partnered with a fast-growing fintech (retail investors), and we're hiring their first dedicated BDR to build the outbound engine from scratch. This is a genuine zero-to-one seat: you won't be stepping into an existing SDR machine, you'll be designing the playbook, the systems, and the sequences that generate qualified pipeline. This isn't an outbound cold calling sales role - it's someone who can build and use the GTM engine that will drive future growth.
This role is on-site 4 days a week (5 days once a month) and is not currently open to hybrid or remote working.
Here's everything you need to know:
💰 Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 base + commission (realistic OTE: £80,000 - £100,000)

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The signals you bring back from the market will directly shape how the business sells, positions, and prices.

We'd love to chat with you about this position if:
- You've got at least one year of experience in a BDR or SDR role within B2B SaaS, fintech, or financial services, and understand sales funnels, CRM hygiene, and outbound sequencing.
- You're genuinely AI-native. You use AI tools daily to build systems and automate workflows at scale, not just to write the occasional email.
- You've got hands-on experience with outbound tooling and have built sequences yourself, rather than only executing lists handed to you.
- You're a sharp written communicator who can write a cold email that actually gets a reply from a senior stakeholder at a listed company. No templates, no clichés.
- You bring high agency and a builder mindset. The idea of designing a system from zero excites you more than inheriting a ready-made playbook.
- You're able and willing to work on-site 4 days per week in Central London, and have full right-to-work in the UK.
