About TEK480

TEK480 is a UK-based early-stage technology company developing a portfolio of enterprise software products focused on improving how organisations govern and control important operational decisions before they are executed.

We are now expanding our commercial activity in the UK and are looking for experienced Business Development professionals who want to help establish markets rather than simply inherit an existing sales territory.

This is a founding commercial opportunity.

You will work closely with TEK480's leadership to identify early customers, develop pilot and design-partner relationships, progress commercial opportunities and help shape our UK go-to-market strategy.

The opportunity

We are looking for commercially experienced people capable of identifying organisations facing meaningful operational, regulatory or execution-risk challenges and developing those relationships from initial discussion through discovery, demonstration, pilot, procurement and licence.

Success is not measured simply by booking meetings.

We are looking for people who can create genuine commercial opportunities, navigate complex B2B sales cycles and develop long-term customer relationships.

The role covers prospect identification, commercial discovery, demonstrations, pilot discussions, commercial progression, CRM management, account development and structured market feedback.

What you will do

  • Identify and qualify prospective customers and strategic partners.
  • Build relationships with decision-makers, internal sponsors and senior stakeholders.
  • Conduct first-stage commercial discovery.
  • Understand customer problems, buying context and commercial requirements.
  • Arrange and support product demonstrations.
  • Identify opportunities for pilots, proofs of value and design partnerships.
  • Progress opportunities through proposal, pilot, procurement and licence stages.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline information.
  • Support account development and customer relationships where allocated.
  • Provide structured market intelligence, including objections, competitor observations and product feedback.
  • Help TEK480 refine its positioning and commercial approach within the UK market.

Commercial model

Important: this is currently an independent-contractor opportunity with no fixed salary.

Compensation combines acquisition commission, recurring account participation and the opportunity to earn performance-based equity.

There is currently no guaranteed salary, minimum income or guaranteed volume of leads.

  • 20% acquisition commission
    • Up to 20% commission on qualifying new licence revenue originated and commercially developed by the Associate, subject to the applicable commercial terms and receipt of customer revenue.
  • 2% recurring account participation
    • Eligible Associates can receive 2% of attributable recurring licence revenue from qualifying customer accounts, subject to continuing eligibility and the formal commercial terms.
  • Up to 3% performance-based equity
    • Founding Business Development Associates may have the opportunity to earn up to 3% equity in TEK480's intended UK commercial/sales operation, subject to commercial performance, milestones, vesting, formal documentation and applicable corporate requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

TEK480 is still building its commercial operation.

That brings greater uncertainty than joining an established software vendor, but it also gives strong early commercial contributors an opportunity to participate in the value they help create.

Career and leadership pathway

The role is initially structured as a Founding Business Development Associate position.

Exceptional Associates may have the opportunity to progress beyond individual business development as the UK commercial operation grows.

Someone demonstrating sustained commercial results, strong market-development capability, disciplined account management and the ability to develop other Associates, partners or channels may be considered for broader commercial leadership responsibilities.

Potential future responsibilities could include:

  • Regional or national commercial leadership;
  • Development of other Business Development Associates;
  • Channel and strategic partnership development;
  • Sales process development;
  • Major-account strategy;
  • Pipeline and forecasting oversight;
  • Commercial market expansion.

Any future leadership appointment, compensation adjustment or additional equity opportunity would be subject to separate performance assessment and written agreement.

How the role works

The engagement is intended to be non-exclusive.

Associates generally determine their own working methods, hours and location while meeting agreed customer commitments, professional standards and commercial objectives.

Other professional activities may continue provided they do not create conflicts of interest or involve misuse of confidential information.

Associates do not have independent authority to alter TEK480 pricing, enter into customer contracts or make unapproved legal, regulatory, technical or product commitments on behalf of the company.

Location

We are seeking experienced candidates across the United Kingdom.

Because the role is primarily remote and commercially focused, location is less important than relevant sector experience, customer networks and the ability to develop genuine enterprise opportunities.

Application

Please apply with your LinkedIn profile or CV and, where possible, include brief information covering:

  • Your B2B / enterprise sales experience.
  • Industries in which you have sold.
  • Experience with large or strategic accounts.
  • Examples of opportunities you personally originated or developed.
  • Experience with SaaS, enterprise software or technology.
  • Experience developing channels, partnerships or new territories.
  • Your UK location.
  • Your current working situation.
  • Whether you are comfortable with an independent-contractor, performance-linked commercial model rather than a salaried employment position.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an initial discussion with TEK480.

Suitable candidates will then receive further information regarding our products, commercial structure and formal Associate terms.
