Founding Business Development Manager
Help Build the Future of AI Transformation
Location: Remote (UK Preferred)
Engagement: Freelance | Part-Time (10–20 hours/week)
Compensation: Monthly Retainer + Uncapped Performance-Based Commission
Reporting to: Founder & CEO

MotionSkills is building a next-generation AI Strategy, Business Transformation and Workforce Capability consultancy helping SMEs unlock productivity, embrace AI and prepare for the future of work. We're looking for our first commercial hire to help shape our growth from day one.
Your Mission
Build the commercial engine behind MotionSkills by identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with decision-makers and creating a predictable pipeline of qualified meetings while working directly with the Founder.
What You'll Own
- Generate qualified B2B opportunities across UK SMEs.
- Build targeted prospect lists using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and sales intelligence platforms.
- Execute outbound outreach across LinkedIn, email and telephone.
- Book high-quality discovery meetings.
- Develop strategic referral partnerships.
- Maintain HubSpot CRM (or similar).
- Use AI tools to improve research, outreach and productivity.
- Contribute to MotionSkills' commercial strategy.

Essential Requirements
- 2–5 years' experience in Business Development, Technology Sales, SaaS, Consulting or Professional Services.
- Proven outbound prospecting experience.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience engaging SME owners and senior decision-makers.
- Commercially minded, organised and comfortable in a startup environment.
Desirable
LinkedIn Sales Navigator, HubSpot CRM, Apollo.io, AI tools (ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or Claude), startup or scale-up experience, technology or consulting background.
