Amber

Amber is a healthcare talent marketplace being built to connect internationally qualified nurses, midwives, doctors, care workers and allied health professionals with the employers who need them across Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Ireland.

We are pre-launch. We are looking for the person who will run the commercial side of it — and own a meaningful share of what they build.

The role

You would own the commercial side of Amber entirely. Employers in four launch countries, recruitment agencies, Philippine training partners, and candidate conversion. The strategy as well as the execution — you would be deciding what we sell, to whom, in what order, and at what price, then going and doing it.

You would work alongside our technical co-founder as an equal. He owns the platform. You would own the market. The roadmap is something the two of you set together.

Amber's founder spent twenty-five years in healthcare recruitment and technology.

What the first year looks like

  • Test the employer proposition properly — fifteen to twenty real conversations before you decide it is right.
  • Sign founding employers ahead of platform launch, so there is somewhere for candidates to go on day one.
  • Turn a Philippine pipeline into an active partner network, which means getting on a plane.
  • Build the agency channel in the destination markets.
  • Set the pricing, own the numbers, and tell us where the business plan is wrong.
  • Hire the first people under you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is right for you if

  • You have real international healthcare recruitment experience — the specific combination, not domestic healthcare or international in another sector.
  • You have sold to hospital groups, care providers, trusts or health services yourself, and can describe why those deals are slow.
  • You understand the machinery: AHPRA, NMC, NMBI, the Nursing Council of New Zealand, IELTS and OET — and why they set the timeline for everything.
  • You have built something from very little before. A market, a desk, a division, a company.
  • You want equity more than salary, and have done that arithmetic yourself.
  • You work without being managed, because nobody is going to.
  • You will travel regularly and would rather be in the room than on a call.

  • You want a desk, a target and a warm client list. This is not that.
  • You need the product to be finished before you can sell the idea.
  • You are looking to match your last salary. We cannot, and we would rather say so now than in the fourth interview.
  • You treat compliance as an obstacle.
  • You write like an advert.

Package

Equity-led, and meaningful. Structure is genuinely open — co-founder-level equity with vesting, or a smaller stake alongside a modest salary. Shaped around the right person.

  • Remote. UK or Ireland based, for overlap with both the Philippines and Australasia.
  • Travel to the Philippines, and to destination markets as the business needs it.

How to apply

No cover letter. Send us three things:

  1. A short note on what you have built and why this interests you. Plain language.
  2. One international healthcare deal you signed — who, how long it took, what nearly killed it.
  3. Look at amberglobalhealth.com and tell us, in a paragraph, the single biggest reason you think this fails. Be blunt. We are more interested in that answer than in the first two.
