About Bettter
Bettter has built the global infrastructure that enables the fashion industry to convert their deadstock into new, commercially viable products at scale.
We combine AI-powered design technology, inventory intelligence, creative direction, and production capabilities to help brands transform existing garments and materials into new revenue rather than waste.
We are working with some of the world's most recognised fashion and retail businesses and are now looking for an exceptional commercial leader to turn that interest into a repeatable, scalable sales engine.
This is not a traditional Head of Sales role.
You won't inherit a large sales team, a mature playbook, an SDR function, or thousands of inbound leads.
You'll help build the machine while you're selling.
The Role
We are looking for a highly commercial, entrepreneurial Commercial Director / Head of Sales to own new business development at Bettter.
Your primary objective is simple:
- Get major fashion brands into conversations and turn those conversations into signed contracts. This is a zero-to-one commercial role.
You will work directly with the CEO, founders, and our creative and technology teams to identify target accounts, create compelling propositions, open doors, run pitches, build commercial proposals, navigate procurement, and close enterprise partnerships.
You should be equally comfortable:
- Finding the right person inside a target account and getting their attention.
- Sending the first cold email yourself.
- Picking up the phone.
- Building a pitch deck at 10pm because tomorrow's meeting matters.
- Running discovery with a global brand.
- Working out an ROI model in real time.
- Negotiating commercial terms.
- Chasing procurement.
- Asking for the signature.
There will not always be someone else to do it.
That's the point.
This role sits at the intersection of enterprise sales, business development, pre-sales, strategy, and commercial storytelling.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You will own the creation of Bettter's enterprise pipeline, not simply the management of one that already exists.
You will:
- Build and own Bettter's enterprise sales pipeline from the ground up.
- Identify the brands most likely to become Bettter customers.
- Find and engage the right decision-makers inside those organisations.
- Develop creative outbound strategies across email, LinkedIn, calls, events, introductions, and strategic partnerships.
- Turn cold accounts into conversations.
- Turn conversations into opportunities.
- Turn opportunities into signed contracts.
- Lead prospects from first contact through discovery, pitch, proposal, procurement, and contract signature.
- Sweat the details. If you've read closely enough to find this, you've unlocked a shortcut: email our CEO directly at vaughn@bettter.us with your best joke. Make him laugh and he'll call you.
- Own an ambitious annual new-business revenue target.
- Maintain strong pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM discipline.
- Continuously test what works, discard what doesn't, and build a repeatable commercial playbook.
Enterprise Selling
Bettter sells into large, complex organisations.
You will need to understand how those businesses work and why they should care.
You will:
- Understand each brand's deadstock, inventory, margin, sustainability, and commercial challenges.
- Identify where Bettter can create measurable financial value.
- Run discovery sessions across sustainability, innovation, merchandising, supply chain, technology, finance, and executive leadership.
- Build the commercial business case for Bettter.
- Develop account strategies across multiple stakeholders.
- Identify internal champions and understand who actually controls budget.
- Navigate procurement, legal, security, finance, and commercial negotiations.
- Create urgency where necessary.
- Develop relationships that grow from initial projects into long-term enterprise partnerships.
Pitching & Pre-Sales

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
There isn't a separate pre-sales team waiting to take over your opportunity. You'll help create what is needed to win it.
That includes:
- Building highly tailored client presentations and pitch decks.
- Creating commercial proposals and business cases.
- Developing ROI models.
- Supporting and delivering technology demonstrations.
- Working with Bettter's product, creative, and production teams to develop client-specific solutions.
- Translating complex technology into a simple commercial story.
- Turning customer conversations into clear proposals and next steps.
- Constantly improving how Bettter communicates its value.
If you think a pitch deck isn't good enough, you'll change it.
If you think we need a one-page business case to get the CFO over the line, you'll create it.
If you discover a better way of positioning Bettter after ten customer conversations, we'll change the positioning.
We're Looking for a Builder
We care much more about what you have built and sold than the logos on your CV.
This role is for someone who has operated without perfect information, without endless resources, and without a team of specialists doing each part of the sales process for them.
We are looking for what some people call a "knife-fighter" salesperson: resourceful, relentless, commercially sharp, and able to figure things out.
Someone who sees ambiguity as freedom rather than a problem.
Someone who thinks: "Give me the target. I'll work out how to get there."
Particularly Interesting Backgrounds
Experience across any combination of the following would be highly valuable:
- Fashion
- Luxury
- Retail
- Ecommerce
- Apparel
- Supply chain technology
- Sustainability technology
- Enterprise SaaS
- AI
- Inventory technology
- Circular economy
- Consulting or transformation
Existing relationships with senior decision-makers inside global fashion or retail brands would be a significant advantage.
But relationships alone aren't enough.
We want someone who can create new ones.
