England’s rules for renting are changing faster than they have in decades.
Landlords can no longer end a tenancy just to get the property back. They now have to prove they followed the law, and most of them cannot.
We’ve built a compliance platform that helps private landlords in England see where they stand and fix the gaps.
A landlord answers a short set of questions about a tenancy, gets a clear view of their compliance position, and can generate the documents and notices they need – with tracked post, so there’s a record if anything is disputed. The product is live, it takes card payments, and it works.
What it does not have yet is customers.
We are a tiny team:
- One full-time founder
- Two postgraduate researchers from a London university working with us on data science
- A technical adviser
We collaborate with that university on research into compliance risk, and we are members of a government-backed innovation hub supported by national mapping and land registry agencies. None of that is revenue. All of it is a door.
What you would own
- Figure out who buys and why. We have theories. You would replace them with evidence: talk to landlords, run the free check with them, watch where they hesitate, and turn that into a clear picture of our best-fit customers.
- Build the first repeatable channel. That might mean landlord associations, local authority networks, letting agents, accountants, property forums, or something we haven’t thought of. We don’t know which of these works yet. You would find out, then do it again and again.
- Turn free users into paying ones. Our compliance check is free and requires no account. It is the top of the funnel, and it has never had anyone properly working it.
- Tell us what to build next. You will hear objections the founder never will. That feedback is as valuable as the sales.
- Close the first hundred customers yourself. This is a hands-on role. If you want to manage a team, this is the wrong stage.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Over time, this role naturally grows into a COO-style position: owning licensing (ICO, AML, etc.), core operations, and the systems that let us scale without breaking things. If that appeals to you, say so – we would rather build with someone who wants that responsibility than hire for a title.
Who this suits
- Someone who has sold something early before, ideally into small businesses or property, and knows the difference between a pipeline and a spreadsheet of names.
- Someone comfortable with a product that is honest about its limits. We publish what our check does not cover. We refuse to overclaim. If you sell by overpromising, we will be a bad fit.
- Someone who wants ownership rather than instruction. There is no playbook here. You would be writing it.
- You do not need to know housing law. You do need to be willing to learn enough of it to be useful in a conversation with a landlord.
Letting agency or property management experience is strongly preferred, but not essential. If you have run or worked in an agency, or managed a portfolio, you will understand our buyers quickly. If you haven’t, you should be ready to get up to speed fast.

Compensation
We are pre-revenue and we are not going to pretend otherwise. There is no salary today. Here is exactly what we can offer instead:
- Equity, meaningfully. A founding commercial hire at this stage is not an employee with share options. We would expect to discuss a genuine founder-level stake, vesting over four years with a one-year cliff, agreed with our solicitors so it is done properly and does not create tax problems later.
- Commission from the first pound. A clear percentage of every subscription and service sale you bring in, paid monthly, uncapped. You should be able to earn before the company can pay a salary.
- A salary as soon as revenue allows. We will define the trigger in writing before you start, tied to a monthly recurring revenue figure rather than a vague promise. When we cross it, you go on payroll at market rate.
What you get that is not money: the first commercial role in a company where you would set the strategy, name your own channels, and have your work visible in the cap table rather than in a performance review.
If you need a salary now, this is not the right role, and we will not be offended.

If both are any good, we’ll talk.
