Role Description
As a Founding Data Scientist at Authority.inc, you will design and implement core models and data pipelines that power the industry intelligence platform. This full-time, on-site role in the London Area, United Kingdom involves collecting, cleaning, and structuring large, complex datasets; building and evaluating statistical and machine learning models; and creating robust metrics and experiments to measure product impact. You will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to translate business questions into analytical frameworks, prototype algorithms, and move successful approaches into production.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in data science, including experience applying Data Science methods to real-world business problems.
- Proficiency in Statistics, with the ability to design experiments, perform hypothesis testing, and build statistical models.
- Hands-on experience in Data Analytics and Data Analysis, including cleaning, transforming, and interpreting complex datasets.
- Ability to create clear and insightful Data Visualization to communicate results and support decision-making.
- Advanced skills in Python or R, and familiarity with common data science libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow).
- Experience with SQL and modern data infrastructure (e.g., cloud data warehouses, ETL/ELT tools, version control, reproducible workflows).
- Background in building and deploying machine learning or statistical models into production environments.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment, with strong communication skills and a focus on impact.
- Experience in market intelligence, financial data, or other industry data domains is a plus, as is prior startup or founding team experience.
