Founding Designer - £60-90k

Location: London

Type: In-office (no remote/hybrid)

The Company

A seed-stage startup building AI technology that runs live in high-volume, high-stakes production environments, making decisions worth billions of dollars, 24/7. Having recently closed a multi-million dollar funding round, the company is scaling quickly across the US and Europe, with a small, high-caliber team solving problems that span operations, physics and engineering, software, AI, and product design. The team spends real time with customers understanding problems firsthand and iterating fast to solve them.

The culture is famously low-process: no scheduled meetings, continuous discussion throughout the day, and features shipped to production daily, often designed, built, and deployed on the customer's site without a central planning cycle.

The Role

This is a single, high-ownership Founding Designer position covering two connected products.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Beyond the toolkit, they're looking for:

  • Exceptional ability, demonstrated in whatever form that's taken for you: a key early role at a startup, a product/brand built end-to-end, or a standout side project or open-source work
  • Comfort with freedom and low process, balanced with genuinely enjoying collaboration
  • Genuine excitement for early-stage, high-growth environments, including some travel to customer sites
  • Comfort operating in uncertain, fast-moving environments

Working Style

In-office, colocated with the team. This is not a remote or hybrid role. Some travel to customer sites is expected.
