Company Description
Praevor is an AI-native financial operating system designed for startups and small to medium-sized businesses, helping them streamline and automate core financial operations. The platform replaces fragmented tools and manual workflows with AI agents that collect payments, pay suppliers, process invoices and receipts, reconcile transactions, and organize financial documents. By reducing repetitive administrative tasks, Praevor enables finance teams and founders to focus on strategic decisions and business growth while improving cash flow visibility and compliance. Praevor’s mission is to make financial operations as simple as asking a question or uploading a document, and to become the operating system every modern business runs on.
Role Description
As a Founding Engineer at Praevor, you will design, build, and maintain the core AI-driven financial operations platform end to end. You will work closely with the founders to translate product vision into robust, secure, and scalable systems, including data pipelines, APIs, and user-facing features. Day-to-day, you will architect new capabilities, implement integrations with financial tools and payment providers, improve reliability and performance, and help shape the engineering culture, standards, and tooling from the ground up. You will also collaborate directly with early customers to understand their workflows, rapidly iterate on product improvements, and contribute to technical and product strategy.
This is a full-time, remote role with significant ownership over technical direction and the opportunity to grow into a leadership position as the company scales.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Strong experience in backend and systems engineering, including building APIs, services, and integrations with third-party tools (e.g., banking, payments, accounting platforms).
- Proficiency with modern programming languages and frameworks commonly used in high-growth startups (such as TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or Go) and familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Additional Information
This is a founding role. We're offering meaningful founder-level equity. There is no salary at this stage. We're looking for someone who believes in the opportunity enough to build alongside us from the beginning and share in the long-term value we create together. If your priority today is a guaranteed salary, we're probably not the right fit yet. If your priority is helping build something ambitious and owning a meaningful part of it, we'd love to talk.

We believe the best ideas can come from anyone. We move quickly. We ship often. We speak to customers constantly. We make decisions using evidence instead of hierarchy. We're obsessed with product quality. We'd rather build one feature customers love than ten they never use. Everyone owns outcomes. Not tasks.
Hiring Process
- Meet the Founders An informal conversation about your experience, how you think, what motivates you, and whether we're excited to build together.
- Technical Exercise A practical technical exercise based on the kind of problems you'll actually solve at Praevor. We're interested in how you think, communicate and make trade-offs, not whether you memorised interview questions.
- Final Conversation If it feels like a great fit on both sides, we'll discuss equity, expectations, responsibilities and what building Praevor together looks like.
We're not looking for someone to join a startup. We're looking for someone to help build one. If you've always wanted to create a company that could define an entirely new category of software, we'd love to hear from you.
