Company Description
Synpath AI is building an AI workforce for manufacturing operations, creating digital colleagues that take on repetitive work for planners, estimators, and production teams. Its specialized agents handle tasks such as RFQ estimating, production planning, urgent order checks, material delay response, and operational coordination, operating 24/7 alongside human teams. Synpath AI integrates directly with existing ERP systems, emails, spreadsheets, and documents, minimizing the need for new portals or complex configuration. The agents autonomously read requests, check constraints, compare historical jobs, identify affected orders, recommend actions, and update workflows, with human approval where needed. This enables manufacturing organizations to quote faster, plan more intelligently, respond to disruptions earlier, and focus human effort on higher-value decisions.
Role Description
As a Founding Engineer at Synpath AI, you will design, build, and scale core product features that power our AI agents for manufacturing operations. You will work closely with the founders and early team to define the technical architecture, develop robust integrations with ERPs and other enterprise systems, and implement production-grade AI workflows that operate reliably in real customer environments. Day-to-day, you will write high-quality code, review and improve existing systems, debug complex issues across the stack, and collaborate with customers to translate operational workflows into technical solutions. You will also help shape engineering best practices, contribute to hiring and team culture, and make strategic technical decisions that influence the long-term direction of the company.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with a mix of on-site collaboration and flexibility for working from home.

Qualifications
- Strong software engineering skills in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript, or similar), with experience building scalable backend services and APIs.
- Experience with AI or data-driven systems, including integrating machine learning models, working with structured and unstructured data, and designing robust data pipelines.
- Background in system integration and enterprise software, such as connecting to ERPs, CRMs, or other business systems via APIs, webhooks, or file-based workflows.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices, including containerization, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and security basics for production environments.
- Ability to work across the stack (backend-focused with some familiarity with front-end frameworks) and to own features end-to-end from design to deployment.
- Comfort working in an early-stage startup environment: prioritizing effectively, moving quickly, handling ambiguity, and collaborating directly with customers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to translate operational challenges into clear technical requirements and solutions.
