Founding Engineer

I am supporting a well funded early stage AI startup building real time coaching technology embedded directly into live sales calls. Their platform delivers instant, contextual guidance during conversations, surfacing the right prompts and discovery questions as the call unfolds.

The company raised £1.6M in seed funding from reputable investors and is backed by experienced operators from successful UK technology businesses. They are operating in one of the fastest moving areas of enterprise software, with genuinely novel technology and strong early validation.

They are now hiring their first Founding Engineer to work directly with the CTO.

The Opportunity

This is a true 0 to 1 role. You will design, ship and own product end to end, from ideation through deployment. You will make foundational architectural decisions, write production code used by real customers, and help shape the engineering culture from the ground up.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
