About Doris Labs
Our mission is to bring every lesson a company has learned into every deal it will ever do.
Companies build up years of knowledge about their customers, products and how business gets done. Much of it stays scattered across calls, inboxes, documents and people’s heads. Teams repeat mistakes, lose context when people leave and make decisions without the benefit of what the company already knows.
We’re building Doris to connect that knowledge into a shared understanding of the business: who’s involved, what’s been discussed, what’s been promised, what happened next and why. That understanding grows with every interaction, with the evidence behind it available to both people and AI agents.
We’re starting with sales, where understanding a relationship, remembering a commitment or recognising a familiar objection can change the outcome of a deal.
We’re VC-backed and hiring founding engineers in London. You’ll be among our first engineering hires, helping shape the product, the underlying architecture and the team we build.
What you’ll build
You’ll own a part of the product end to end, from the underlying data model to what customers see and use.

At the core of Doris is an ontology: a structured model of deals, people, companies and the relationships between them. Every agent, workflow and screen reads from it.
Our product already includes:
- Extraction that identifies material changes in a sales process across connected sources, updating structured records with evidence linked to each change.
- A workflow engine that runs connected blocks of logic after calls or on a schedule.
- An agent that answers questions about a sales pipeline and does work to advance the deal.
- A notetaker that joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, linking each call to the deal it belongs to.
You’ll help develop these systems and extend the underlying model into more of the places companies keep their business context, including warehouses, ticketing systems, billing platforms and product analytics tools.
What we’re looking for
- Several years building software that other people depend on.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and confidence learning new tools. We use Python on the backend and TypeScript on the frontend, experience with either is useful.
- Confidence working with relational databases and making thoughtful schema decisions.
- Experience looking after software in production, including deployments, incidents and the work that follows.
- An instinct to speak to customers, understand their problems and use what you learn to shape what you build.
- An API-first mindset. We’re building a headless platform where our own frontend, external integrations and AI agents use the same underlying APIs. Experience building APIs or MCP servers is useful.

Experience with LLM-backed systems, event-driven or asynchronous processing, or CRM and go-to-market data would be useful, but isn’t required.
You don’t need a background in sales software. You do need to find it interesting that a deal can stall for a reason nobody wrote down.
