Software Engineer – Rust / Systems

We're working with one of the most exciting early-stage technology companies operating at the intersection of sports, data and trading. They are building technology for the US sports betting market, working with some of the biggest names in the industry and processing significant volumes of real-time data and transactions.

The engineering team is small, highly technical and growing quickly. They've already attracted engineers from companies including Meta and Google, and they're looking for exceptional engineers who want genuine ownership and the opportunity to have a major impact.

The Role

You'll join a small engineering team working on a technically challenging product where performance, reliability and low latency matter.

Rust is the current language of choice, but you don't need prior Rust experience. They're much more interested in finding outstanding engineers who are strong technically, think clearly and can pick up new technologies quickly.

You'll have a high level of autonomy and will be involved in building core systems across areas including:

  • High-performance, low-latency systems
  • Real-time sports data and analytics
  • Trading and execution infrastructure
  • Integrations with major US betting platforms
  • In-game betting and real-time wagering products
  • New product development and expansion into new geographies
  • Building out new AI and modelling capabilities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

There's a lot of greenfield work ahead, with the team already working against a clear 6-month roadmap and ambitious plans beyond that.

What They're Looking For

They're looking for the best engineers they can find, rather than hiring against a rigid checklist.

You could be working in Rust, C++, Java, Go, Python or another strong technical language. What matters is that you have:

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals
  • Experience building and owning production systems
  • The ability to work through complex technical problems independently
  • A genuine interest in building great products
  • The curiosity to learn new technologies quickly

Experience with Rust, low-latency systems, trading, data or sports would be useful, but isn't essential.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a company while the engineering team is still small enough for individual engineers to have a huge amount of influence.
