Company Description

Romeai is a $7M seed-stage startup backed by General Catalyst building an AI-powered system of record to optimize global supply chains and logistics flows for Fortune 250 enterprises.

Job Description

As a Founding Engineer at Romeai, you will build the intelligent infrastructure connecting fragmented supply chain data for global giants. Moving beyond spreadsheets and legacy systems, you'll design real-time data models and user-facing products that optimize end-to-end logistics. This high-impact role offers deep ownership over the core platform while solving massive environmental and economic inefficiencies.

Why this role is remarkable

  • Work directly with former YC founders and a world-class team on $500k+ ACV contracts for global industry leaders like Scania.
  • Backed by $7M from General Catalyst and the visionary founders of Dropbox, Perplexity, and Toast to solve a multi-billion dollar logistics problem.
  • High-autonomy environment where you own zero-to-one products across the entire stack, from complex data integrations to polished user interfaces.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You Will Do

  • Build and own end-to-end products that aggregate data from factories, suppliers, and carriers into a single, real-time AI-powered system of record.
  • Design and implement robust backend systems, APIs, and data models capable of handling the scale of Fortune 250 enterprise supply chains.
  • Collaborate with the founding team to define product strategy and translate complex logistics challenges into intuitive, user-facing software solutions.

The ideal candidate

  • 3–12 years of professional software experience at high-bar product companies like Stripe, Linear, or Vercel, with a strong background in both application and systems engineering.
  • Proven sign of greatness, such as being a former founder, top-tier school graduate, competitive programmer (ICPC/IOI), or significant open-source contributor.
  • An independent builder with deep product judgment who can solve complex backend constraints while delivering exceptional user experiences without relying on separate platform teams.
