Founding Engineer
Robotics, ML & Simulation
Interested in building software at the intersection of robotics, machine learning and physical simulation, with the freedom to shape both the technology and the product?
I'm working with an early-stage deep tech start-up developing technically sophisticated software for engineering and robotics applications.
They're looking for a Founding Engineer to work directly with the CTO, taking complex technical ideas from early development through to production.
Why it's interesting:
- Work directly with the CTO and founding team on core technology and product decisions
- Build and deploy software used by SMB and enterprise customers
- Solve challenging problems across robotics, numerical optimisation, simulation and ML
- Own projects end-to-end, from technical exploration through to deployment
- Work closely with customers to translate complex engineering problems into usable products
- Help shape the technical foundations of an early-stage company

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
