About LIVESYNC
LIVESYNC is building the technology that makes live events playable inside games. We take live motion and positional data from real-world sporting events, process it in real time and synchronise it with gaming environments so players can experience the live moment as it happens.
We are starting with sport and Roblox, with the ambition to expand across different entertainment industries and gaming platforms. We are looking for a Founding Games Engineer to become one of our first core technical hires.
The role
You will lead the game-side development of LIVESYNC, initially likely within Roblox. You will take real-time data from our external processing architecture and turn it into responsive, synchronised characters and experiences inside the game. This is a hands-on founding role with real ownership. You’ll help shape the technical direction of the product as well as build it.
As LIVESYNC grows, we expect the role to expand into broader gameplay systems, new platform integrations and technical leadership.
What you'll work on
- Build and own LIVESYNC's Roblox integration
- Develop the systems that turn live motion and positional data into gameplay
- Build character animation, movement and synchronisation systems
- Develop robust client-server architecture for live experiences
- Optimise performance across players, characters and live data
- Work closely with our real-time systems engineer to define the interface between LIVESYNC and the game
- Help shape future integration SOPs across Roblox games and other gaming platforms
- Contribute to technical decisions, documentation and future engineering hires

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for
You are an experienced games engineer who understands both gameplay and the systems underneath it. More importantly, you genuinely love games and care about the experience layer. You are interested in how technology translates into something that feels responsive, intuitive and fun for the player.
You should have strong experience with:
- Roblox Studio and Luau
- Multiplayer and client-server game architecture
- Character, movement or animation systems
- Performance optimisation
- Integrating external systems or data into games
Experience with live data, procedural animation, motion capture, sports games or other game engines would be particularly useful. We care more about the problems you have solved and your ability to learn than whether your previous technology stack exactly matches ours. LIVESYNC is an early-stage startup, and we want someone who wants to grow with it.
You should enjoy difficult technical problems, be comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and be willing to challenge our assumptions when there is a better solution. You should also be comfortable working directly with founders, external technology partners and other engineers.
We want someone who is excited by the opportunity to help build not only the product, but the engineering culture and team around it. Over time, this role has the potential to grow from Roblox engineering into broader games platform development and technical leadership.
