🚀 Summary of the role
You'll be our first specialist marketing hire. Ample offers homeowners a better energy future, and gives installers the platform to deliver it. We're moving from chasing installers to being found by them; this makes marketing the engine rather than the support function. Everything that happens next is yours to build.
You'll own demand on both sides: homeowners and installers. You’ll manage the Ample brand, the website, the paid channels, the content engine, the email programme, the referral scheme and whatever else you think will deliver results. You'll do most of the work yourself, at least until the results justify a team under you.
You'll report to our COO. We run a flat structure, so there is nobody between you and the decision, and nobody above you doing half of your job.
🌍 About us: Ample
Ample is bringing UK homes into the 21st century. We built the UK's only fully managed, financially protected heat pump subscription, so a homeowner moves to clean heating for a monthly figure instead of a five-figure bill. We’re now expanding this to the whole home energy stack (heating, cooling, energy storage).
That works because we deeply understand installers and the challenges that hold them back. We remove friction so they can excel at what matters - delivering exceptional service and engineering.
We're venture-backed and scaling towards thousands of installations a year. We use AI across the business, from operations to outreach to product, and we expect everyone here to do the same.
🛠 What you will do
- Build the brand. Work with the founders to protect and evolve the Ample brand. Make us visible. Get people excited.
- Bring installers to us. We've got the brand and the product to build an effective inbound machine. It’s time to build the content, trade channels and campaigns to ensure the next hundred installers arrive already knowing who we are and what we do.
- Own the homeowner funnel. From first impression to qualified enquiry, you’ll be focussing on refining the channels that work, either directly or on collaboration with external specialists.
- Market through our partners. We have excellent channel partners. You will work with them to make the most of these relationships: co-marketing, joint campaigns, co-branded material and the lead flow that results from it.
- Run the digital. You'll own website performance: content, structure, speed, conversion rate, and the SEO/GEO programme already running against it. You’ll also own any relevant social channels.
- Build referral engines. Homeowners who have great experiences tell their neighbours. Installers know other installers. You'll design and manage the schemes that leverage this.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

🌱 How this role grows
- 0–3 months: learn the business, get your foundations set, identify where you can have the most impact.
- 3–12 months: work with the founders to deliver on the strategic priorities for the business. Your role grows as we do.
🔎 What we're looking for
Five or more years in marketing, with at least two of them somewhere small enough that you had to do the work yourself. If you haven't run the whole function before, you're ready to.
You should apply if most of this sounds like you:
- You love to win. You’re ready for a career-defining challenge.
- You can write. Copy, landing pages, emails, briefs — the words come out well.
- You have a keen eye and great visual taste. You strive for perfection.
- You've built something from nothing rather than optimised something inherited.
- You've marketed a complex, considered purchase with a long cycle, not just impulse ecommerce.
- You're fluent with AI tools and you use them to move faster than a team of one should.
- You've run paid acquisition and you know what good looks like.
