Mission
We are looking for a product leader who wants to play a foundational role in redefining how healthcare is accessed by patients.
We can get food, groceries and rides to our door, on-demand. Yet, accessing healthcare still means battling outdated systems, long waiting lists and travelling to overstretched clinical facilities with unpredictable experiences.
We know demand is rising, capacity in clinical settings is not coping, and patients' expectations are fundamentally different when it comes to managing their health. That is why Heim exists. To create the AI layer for the last mile of healthcare, that lets us make home the default place for patients to access care, at scale.
Our proprietary algorithms and productivity tooling are already live inside our own 450+ practitioner network, and have powered tens of thousands of visits so far. NHS community teams are now pulling for our software faster than we can ship it. We’re hiring our first Head of Product to turn that pull into a category-defining company.
This is a founding, exec-level role. You will own and define Heim’s product roadmap — not execute someone else’s spec — working shoulder-to-shoulder with our founders, medical director and product engineers to decide what Heim becomes.
About Us
We’re a team of technologists, clinicians and commercial leaders with a track record of success in launching, scaling and exiting ventures in cloud technology and healthcare.
Prior to Heim, James Monico and Kelly Klifa built Testing For All, scaling the not for profit diagnostics provider to become the go-to platform for Covid-testing during the pandemic and testing over 1m patients in <18 months. Prior to that, James Monico co-founded and scaled Cloudreach, before exiting to Blackstone in 2017. Dr Elle Clarke, Heim’s Medical Director is a fellow of the 2026 NHS Innovation Accelerator.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You Will Own
- Shape product direction, execution and standards to make Heim the go-to AI platform to help reach more patients, at home - working closely with our product engineers and commercial team.
- Heim’s AI-native product strategy: how we ship agentic systems that behave safely, and how we structure product teams built around AI-native tooling.
- Drive clarity and accountability across the organisation and help us keep up with fast growing demand for our software.
- Be the link between the frontline reality of community nursing and the software we ship — staying close enough to spot the next 10x improvement before clinicians can describe it.
- You continuously raise the bar for our team, and you will have ultimate responsibility for quality and continuous improvement of our tech stack.
What You Will Bring
- 6–8+ years in product or engineering leadership, ideally forged in startup or scale-up environments.
- A track record of owning and shipping complex products end-to-end: from discovery through production — ideally in high-stakes domains.
- Real technical depth: you can read and challenge a codebase, and engineers rate you as one of the best product partners they’ve worked with.
- Native AI fluency: you’ve shipped agentic or conversational AI systems, and you’re obsessed with how they behave, fail and improve.
- Extreme ownership and low ego, paired with the judgment to move fast where clinical safety matters.
- A first-principles instinct — you’d rather find the simple answer than manage the complicated one.

- Ready to be challenged and thrive in an unstructured, fast moving environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- 6-8 years of experience working in engineering and/or product roles, including startup or scale up experience.
- Built products using nodejs frameworks, in cloud platforms with full CI/CD.

- Work in a complex data domain such as healthcare, finance or crypto preferred.
- Ability to navigate and meaningfully contribute to a code base.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Degree in engineering or science or humanities if coupled with work experience learning coding and data analytics practices.
