World of Our Own
World of Our Own is a culture and lifestyle podcast and brand - the space on the internet for candid conversations about life, authentic living and doing things on your own terms.
Whether we're questioning the rules of adulting, having conversations that get unexpectedly deep or causing complete chaos for absolutely no reason, the show has always been about creating a space where people can laugh, think and feel like they're part of the conversation.
Over the last 18 months, we've grown to 250,000+ followers across our social platforms, alongside thousands of monthly listeners and viewers across Spotify and YouTube, with an international audience spanning the UK, USA, Nigeria and South Africa.
And we've done all of that with one core show and a very small team. Now, we're ready to produce more shows and therefore build a larger team.
Role Description
We're looking for our Founding Junior Producer — the first person to join the core World of Our Own team and help us take the show into its next chapter.
Our biggest priority right now is simple: more great content, more consistently.
We currently have far more clippable moments worth sharing than we have the capacity to edit and publish on social media. We want to move towards posting short-form content every day, while being much more intentional about the ideas and moments we're creating in the show itself.
That's where you come in.
Initially, this will be a hands-on short-form editing and production support role working directly with Sam, our Lead Producer and Co-Host. As you get to know the show, our audience and how we work, there's real scope for the role to grow into wider podcast production.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What You'll Initially Be Doing:
Your first focus will be helping us create more content, more consistently, while supporting the day-to-day production of the show:
- Editing short-form content — identifying the strongest moments from episodes and turning them into scroll-stopping clips people want to watch and share for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts.
- Supporting the day-to-day production of the podcast — This could be anything from researching thumbnail references and gathering inspiration for an upcoming episode to organising content and information sourcing.
- Bringing ideas to the table — from episode concepts to potential segments and formats that could create funny, interesting, controversial or highly shareable moments.
As you grow into the role, there'll be opportunities to take on more of the producing side of the show — from topic and guest research to Patreon, YouTube packaging, new segments and wider growth strategy. Ultimately, we're looking for someone who can grow with World of Our Own and take on more ownership over time.
You'll Succeed If...
- You genuinely love podcasts — not just making content for them.
- You already have some experience editing short-form social content.
- You're comfortable editing with any editing software (Final Cut Pro and Adobe PP preferred)
- You understand short-form platforms and have an instinct for what makes someone stop scrolling.
- Some understanding of pacing, hooks and storytelling and why some clips work while others don't.
- You're interested in internet culture and what people are actually talking about.
- You have ideas and aren't afraid to pitch them.
- You're proactive, reliable and able to work independently.

One Last Thing...
World of Our Own has reached 250,000+ followers with a tiny team, and we genuinely believe we're only getting started. This is a volunteer role initially, but we're looking for someone who sees the long-term vision, wants to grow with the show and can one day say, “I was there before it blew up.”
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
