Founding Marketing Engineer

London · Hybrid · Full-time · Meaningful equity

Are you the marketer who keeps rebuilding the way the work gets done? The person who cannot quite accept that a team should spend hours moving between dashboards, documents, spreadsheets and AI tools just to reach one useful decision? Maybe you started using AI early and quickly became frustrated with how shallow most of the implementation was.

More content. More outputs. More summaries.

But not necessarily more understanding.

You have probably seen teams add AI on top of broken processes rather than question the process itself. You have seen good marketers reduced to rearranging generated output, checking work that lacks context and manually reconnecting information the system should already understand.

And somewhere along the way, you started building your own solutions.

Not because you wanted to become a software engineer, but because waiting for the right tool became more frustrating than creating something yourself.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You might have built an automation, connected a few APIs, created an unusually capable spreadsheet, experimented with agents or redesigned an internal process that everyone else had learned to tolerate.

You are still a marketer.

You care about the market, the message, the audience and the outcome.

But you also think about structure.

You notice where knowledge gets lost. Where decisions become disconnected from execution. Where teams repeat work they have already done. Where software records activity without understanding what the company is trying to achieve.

You are probably restless inside highly divided teams.

You do not want to spend your career handing a brief to one department, waiting for another department to implement it and then receiving a dashboard several weeks later.

You want to be closer to the problem.

Closer to the customer.

Closer to the product.

Closer to the point where an idea becomes something real.

We are looking for a Founding Marketing Engineer to join an early-stage AI company working within search and modern marketing.

This is for someone who wants to help shape a company, not simply occupy a role within one.

Someone who is comfortable operating before every answer, process and responsibility has been defined.

Someone who enjoys moving between research, ideas, systems, communication and execution without treating them as separate disciplines.

You will work directly with the founder to build the company’s first marketing function, develop its point of view and create the systems through which it learns and grows.

There is no inherited playbook to maintain.

You will help decide what the playbook should be.
