Founding Senior Data Architect β€” Microsoft Fabric | Global Sustainability Consultancy

πŸ“ Hybrid, City of London (2 days/week) | πŸ’° Up to Β£120,000 + bonus & benefits

Here's an opportunity you don't see twice: the chance to be the first Senior Data Architect at a globally recognised leader in sustainability consulting, building their enterprise data platform from a blank page.

Their UK data practice is brand new. There's no legacy stack to untangle, no years of technical debt to inherit β€” just a genuine blank canvas and a mandate to do it properly from day one.

What you'll be doing

  • You'll lead the architecture of a Microsoft Fabric-based enterprise data platform, built on metadata-driven principles with governance and data quality baked in from the start rather than bolted on later.
  • This isn't a purely strategic role sitting above the work β€” you'll be hands-on in designing and supporting the build of the platform and its data products, while also helping shape and grow the wider data practice as it scales.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer β€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right β€” and where to focus when applying.

Why this one's different

  • First of your kind. You're not slotting into an existing team structure β€” you're setting the technical direction and standards that the practice will be built on.
  • Real mission, not just mission statement. This is sustainability consultancy at global scale β€” the data platform you build will directly underpin the work they do for clients on genuinely consequential problems.
  • Fabric, done right. A rare chance to architect a Microsoft Fabric platform from first principles, rather than retrofitting governance onto someone else's decisions.
  • Growth on your terms. As the practice expands, so does your remit β€” this is a founding role with room to shape what comes next.
