Founding Operations Lead | HFT / Prop Trading | London
I’m working with a highly ambitious, early-stage technology and trading business building at the intersection of AI, real-time data and high-frequency trading.
They are looking to hire a Founding Operations Lead who will work directly with the founders and take broad ownership across the commercial and operational build-out of the firm.
This is not a traditional middle-office operations role.
The successful candidate will be expected to help scale the business across:
- Commercial strategy and business development
- Originating, negotiating and executing strategic deals
- New market, venue and product expansion
- Exchange, broker, clearing and counterparty relationships
- Strategic partnerships and vendor negotiations
- Building operational processes and infrastructure from the ground up
- Supporting the launch of new trading activities
- Working closely with trading, engineering, legal, compliance and external stakeholders

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
