Founding Product Designer

Location: London (Hybrid) - 3/4 days in the office
£70,000 - £85,000 (Dependent on exp) + Meaningful Equity

Become the first design hire at one of the UK's most exciting early-stage technology businesses.

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Founding Product Designer to join a well-funded technology company founded by former senior fintech giant leaders. The business is redefining how people authenticate, pay and access physical spaces through market-leading biometric payment and identity technology.

Already live across multiple industries throughout the UK and Ireland, the company is building hardware, native mobile applications and merchant software in parallel. As the first dedicated design hire, this individual will own every aspect of the user experience, helping shape how customers interact with the product from day one.

This is far more than a traditional Product Design role. The successful candidate will define the design language, build the design system and, using AI-assisted development tools, prototype and ship production-ready experiences themselves. It is an opportunity for someone who enjoys combining exceptional product design with technical curiosity and a builder's mindset.

The Opportunity

Working directly with the founders and engineering team, this individual will establish the company's design function from the ground up. They will have complete ownership of the visual identity, user experience and design systems that underpin a category-defining product. From initial concept through to launch, their work will be seen by real customers and merchants within weeks, not months.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
