About Unreal Labs

Unreal Labs is an AI marketing lab creating a system that replaces performance marketing teams and ad agencies. They automate the entire lifecycle of performance creatives, from generating ideas to producing and launching them on ad platforms using AI workflows.

Founded by experienced entrepreneurs and former leaders from major tech companies (1, 2, 3, 4), the six-month-old startup is pre-scale but already generating revenue. They have design partners and backing from Sequoia Capital and First Round Capital. The team is now focused on transforming complex AI technology into a self-serve B2B product for companies running high-volume advertising operations.

Unreal Labs is on a mission to develop new ways for people to work with generative systems at scale. They're looking for a Founding Product Designer obsessed with GenAI who wants to help shape the future of marketing.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Packaging a complex, multi-model AI system into a clear, usable, self-serve product.
  • Designing AI-native interfaces for high-volume creative production, not dashboards or CRUD apps.
  • Defining and refining product flows for different types of creative work.
  • Collaborating directly with founders, engineers, and the creative team to guide product direction.
  • Turning chaotic, real-world production workflows into efficient user experiences that can scale.
  • Rapidly prototyping, testing, and iterating, prioritizing speed and accuracy over polish.
  • Helping the team find product-market fit through design choices, not just visuals.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Ability to work closely with senior engineers and founders.
  • Deep curiosity and hands-on experience with generative AI tools and models.
  • Determination to iterate until a solution actually works.
  • Fluency in English and the ability to work in London, office-first, at least three days a week.

Huge Plus If You Have

  • Experience designing AI-first or agent-based products.
  • Background in B2B, internal tools, or workflow-heavy systems.
  • Familiarity with performance marketing, creative production, or automation tools.
  • Prior experience as a founding or first designer.

  • Direct access to founders with previous exits and deep knowledge of AI.
  • The opportunity to have a real impact on a product already used by paying customers.
  • Competitive pay with potential for meaningful equity.
  • A chance to design something that doesn’t yet have established patterns.
  • A senior, intellectual team that values taste, speed, and originality.

What's Great About This Role

This is a rare opportunity to join as a founding designer at a pivotal moment where design is essential. You won't refine existing processes or work within an established design system. Instead, you'll define how an entirely new type of AI product should work.

You will work at the crossroads of AI, product, and real economic challenges, designing for clients who produce thousands of ads each month. They will quickly notice if your choices make them faster, better, or more efficient.

Backed by Sequoia and First Round, with a small senior team of experienced founders from major tech companies, you'll have unparalleled creative freedom, a highly intellectual environment, and true ownership during a pivotal moment for AI.

If you find uncertainty exhilarating and want to help shape the future of marketing, this role offers a challenge few others can match.
