Job Description
Join Inkling as a founding engineer to build the future of education. You will own the full-stack development and AI engineering of our voice-based Socratic tutor. Working directly with founders from Cambridge and leadership backgrounds, you’ll ship high-impact features used by top UK schools to drive measurable student outcomes.

What You Will Do
- Design and implement features across the full stack using Python, TypeScript/React, AWS, and Postgres to support a real-time voice interface.
- Develop and refine AI engineering systems, including agentic loops and memory frameworks that allow the tutor to adapt to each student's thinking.
- Collaborate with founders and educators to bridge the gap between world-class pedagogy and production-ready software in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production code in high-ambiguity, early-stage startup environments.
- Strong full-stack proficiency in Python and TypeScript/React, with practical experience managing AWS infrastructure and relational databases like Postgres.
- A mission-driven mindset with the product intuition to prioritize user experience and the drive to own large product surface areas independently.
