You should naturally bring order to complexity.

When you see ten different technical projects moving in ten different directions, your instinct should be to understand how they connect, establish priorities, identify dependencies and create a structure that allows everyone to move forward.

You must be comfortable holding people accountable for agreed actions without creating unnecessary friction with technical teams.

You should be able to work with highly technical individuals without trying to micromanage their specialist expertise.

At the same time, you must have enough technical understanding to recognise when something does not make sense, when a deadline is unrealistic, when a dependency has been overlooked or when a problem needs to be escalated.

We need someone who is calm under pressure, detail-conscious but able to see the bigger picture, confident enough to challenge assumptions and disciplined enough to keep projects moving.

You must be comfortable joining an environment where many systems are being created for the first time.

There will not always be a template.

There will not always be an established process.

Part of your role will be to create the process.

Most importantly, you must understand the significance of helping build the infrastructure of a new organisation from the ground up.

This is an opportunity for someone who does not simply want to manage projects that already exist, but wants to help establish the project-management infrastructure that will enable an entirely new ecosystem to be built.

What will you be doing?

We are seeking a Founding Project Manager – Infrastructure to join the founding Infrastructure Team and bring the structure, discipline, coordination and project governance required to turn SHG/TMTSD's infrastructure vision into a functioning reality.

This is not a conventional project management position.

The successful person will be joining at the point where the foundations of the organisation are being created. There are no established corporate project-management structures to simply inherit and operate. You will help create the project-management framework that future teams will use to build, maintain and expand the infrastructure.

You will work closely with technical specialists, developers, architects, cybersecurity professionals, AI specialists, data professionals, infrastructure teams and other founding members.

Your role will be to ensure that ideas become clearly defined projects, projects become structured workstreams, workstreams have owners and deadlines, dependencies are identified, risks are visible, and the overall Infrastructure Team continues moving towards its agreed milestones.

You must therefore be comfortable working with technical people and understanding enough of their work to manage it properly.

You do not need to be the person writing the code or architecting every technical solution.

You do need to understand what your technical team members are doing, understand the seriousness and complexity of their work, ask the right questions, identify when something is blocked or falling behind, and ensure that technical decisions and deliverables are properly reflected within the overall project plan.

As the Founding Project Manager – Infrastructure, your mission will be to

• Bring order and structure to the Infrastructure Team, creating clear project plans, workstreams, milestones, responsibilities, dependencies and deadlines so that complex technical work can move forward in a controlled and coordinated manner.
• Create and maintain the Infrastructure Project Management Framework, including project workflows, reporting structures, milestone tracking, task ownership, documentation standards, change control, risk management and escalation processes that can eventually be adopted by future SHG sister companies teams.
• Coordinate technical and non-technical contributors, developing a strong understanding of the work being undertaken by developers, engineers, architects, AI specialists, cybersecurity professionals, data teams and other technical members so that their work can be properly sequenced and managed.
• Protect the delivery timeline and identify problems early, continuously monitoring progress against agreed deadlines, identifying dependencies, bottlenecks, resource constraints, technical blockers and risks, and ensuring that issues are escalated before they become major project failures.
• Help turn the Infrastructure Blueprint into an executable programme, working with the Infrastructure Team and wider SHG ecosystem to translate the organisation's ambitious first-of-its-kind AI-embedded infrastructure vision into realistic, measurable and achievable stages of delivery.
