Founding Sales Director — Nightingale Software Group
The Opportunity
Nightingale Software Group is building a portfolio of B2B SaaS products designed to solve real operational and commercial problems for businesses.
We are now building the commercial side of the business and are looking for a Founding Sales Director to take ownership of sales and help turn the company from founder-led selling into a scalable revenue operation.
This is not a conventional Sales Director role.
You would be joining at the ground floor, with the opportunity to build the sales function from scratch, personally close customers, establish the sales process, recruit the eventual sales team and become a key part of the company’s leadership.
The initial compensation reflects the stage of the business and the level of upside available.
The Founding Opportunity
At the beginning, there is no traditional salary.
Instead, the founding Sales Director receives exceptionally strong performance-based compensation:
- 30% new-business commission on new business personally sourced and/or closed.
- 25% recurring commission on eligible recurring revenue from customers they originate, subject to the agreed commission terms.
- 30% profit share of defined distributable company operating profit.
The intention is simple: The more successful you make Nightingale, the more you earn.
There is no artificial ceiling on what a successful founding commercial leader can earn through the combination of commission and profit share.
The Progression
This is designed to evolve as Nightingale becomes financially established.
Stage 1 — Founding
- Salary: £0
- New business: 30%
- Recurring: 25%
- Profit share: 30%
This is the highest-risk stage and therefore carries the highest upside.
The founding Sales Director is effectively joining as an entrepreneurial commercial partner rather than taking a conventional salaried sales position.
Stage 2 — Growth
Once Nightingale reaches an agreed recurring-profit milestone and can support a salary:
- Salary: approximately £35,000–£45,000
- New business: 20%
- Recurring: 15%
- Profit share: 20%
At this point the role transitions from founding commercial operator into a conventional senior leadership position while retaining substantial performance upside.
Stage 3 — Established
Once Nightingale has reached a significantly larger and more stable revenue base:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Salary: approximately £60,000–£80,000
- New business: 10%
- Recurring: 5%
- Profit share: 10%
The salary becomes the primary source of guaranteed compensation, while commission and profit share continue to reward exceptional performance.
What You Would Own
The Founding Sales Director would take responsibility for building Nightingale’s commercial operation, including:
- Developing the overall sales strategy
- Defining and refining ICPs
- Establishing sales processes and methodology
- Founder-to-sales handover
- Prospecting and outbound strategy
- Personally closing early customers
- Building and managing the sales pipeline
- Developing partnerships and channel opportunities
- Creating repeatable sales playbooks
- Establishing forecasting and reporting
- Recruiting future salespeople
- Building and managing the sales team
- Coaching and developing sales staff
- Working with product and marketing to improve conversion
- Establishing pricing and commercial strategy
- Building enterprise sales capability
- Ultimately taking ownership of Nightingale’s sales organisation
The expectation is hands-on leadership.
This isn’t a role where someone inherits a sales team and manages dashboards.
There won’t be a sales team to inherit.
You’ll build it.
The Products
The commercial portfolio includes a growing range of B2B SaaS products, including:
- Rekuver — revenue recovery
- FacilityFlow — facilities management
- Stok — hospitality stock management
- Ekspedite — hospitality compliance
- ShiftCheck — hospitality standards
- PunchLine — time & attendance
- Rampify — fleet compliance
- CleanNest — waste management
- Songbird — CRM
- BirdCall — helpdesk
- Onboardly — recruitment/onboarding
- Zevolo — workflow and approvals
- e-Kwip — asset management
- KoWurk — asset booking
- WasteVault — document management
- Leggdger — accounting
- GaleCast — AI sales development
The portfolio gives the Sales Director multiple routes to market rather than relying on a single product.
GaleCast
One of the major commercial opportunities is GaleCast, Nightingale’s AI SDR platform.
GaleCast is being built to:
Discover → Research → Enrich → Score → Engage → Qualify → Follow up → Book meetings → Update CRM
The long-term vision is an AI sales development system capable of performing a significant portion of the work traditionally carried out by an SDR.

What Makes This Different
You would be joining before the sales organisation exists.
That means you would have genuine influence over:
- What we sell
- Who we sell to
- How we sell
- How the sales team operates
- Who we hire
- How the pipeline is managed
- How the commercial organisation scales
The objective is not simply to become Nightingale’s first salesperson.
The objective is to become the person who builds Nightingale’s sales organisation.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal person will have:
- Significant B2B SaaS sales experience
- Proven ability to personally close business
- Strong outbound sales experience
- Experience selling into senior decision-makers
- Experience building sales processes
- Strong commercial judgement
- Entrepreneurial mentality
- Ability to operate without an established sales infrastructure
- Experience recruiting/managing salespeople
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- A genuine interest in AI and the future of software sales
Most importantly:
You need to be comfortable being hands-on.
The first stage involves selling.
The later stages involve building and leading the organisation that sells.
Why Join At This Stage?
Because the compensation is deliberately structured around upside rather than security.
Someone joining once Nightingale is established might receive a substantial salary and a conventional commission package.
A founding Sales Director gets something different:
A chance to help build the commercial organisation from the beginning and participate meaningfully in the value they create.
The proposition is:
Take more risk early. Receive more upside early. As the company becomes established, the risk decreases, the salary increases and the variable compensation normalises.
The Objective
The immediate objective is simple:
Get Nightingale to consistent recurring profitability.
From there:
- Build the sales team.
- Scale the customer base.
- Build predictable revenue.
- Expand into enterprise.
- Turn Nightingale into a serious SaaS business.
This is a founding-team opportunity, not simply another Sales Director vacancy.
