Help build S.W.U.G.'s public voice as our Founding Volunteer Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Use your marketing and communications expertise to grow our brand, engage our community and help create positive opportunities for young people across Portsmouth.

As our Founding Volunteer Marketing & Communications Coordinator, you will play a vital role in helping S.W.U.G. grow its visibility, reputation and community impact.
- Your work will help us reach more young people, recruit volunteers, attract supporters, develop partnerships and raise awareness of the opportunities we provide.
- Every campaign, social media post, article and piece of content you create will contribute to building trust within our community and strengthening our public profile.
This role is about far more than managing social media. You will help establish the voice, identity and reputation of S.W.U.G. during its early stages, ensuring our mission reaches the people who need it most.
By sharing our story and celebrating the achievements of our young people, volunteers and partners, you will help create lasting opportunities that inspire participation, strengthen communities and support the long-term growth of our organisation.
As a founding volunteer, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of S.W.U.G. and leave a lasting legacy within an organisation committed to empowering young people through positive community engagement.

Our ideal volunteer will have experience in one or more areas of marketing, communications, social media, public relations or digital content creation. They should be confident producing engaging content, communicating with a range of audiences and helping to promote an organisation's mission and activities.
We Would Particularly Welcome Volunteers Who Have Experience Of
- Marketing, communications or brand development.
- Managing social media platforms and creating engaging content.
- Designing digital content using tools such as Canva or similar.
- Planning and delivering marketing campaigns.
- Writing clear and engaging copy for online and offline audiences.
- Working collaboratively within a team while also using their own initiative.
- Organising their workload and meeting agreed deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, creativity and a positive, proactive attitude are essential. We are looking for someone who shares our commitment to supporting young people and strengthening local communities.
While experience within the charity or voluntary sector is welcomed, it is not essential. We value transferable skills, fresh ideas and a willingness to help us build S.W.U.G. from the ground up.

What will you be doing?
As our Founding Volunteer Marketing & Communications Coordinator, you will help establish and grow the public profile of S.W.U.G. (Show What U Got) by leading our marketing and communications activities. We are looking for someone with at least three years' relevant experience in marketing, communications or a related field, who is passionate about using their skills to make a positive impact within the community.

Working closely with the Founder & CEO and our founding volunteer team, you will develop engaging campaigns that raise awareness of our mission, attract volunteers, strengthen partnerships and celebrate the positive impact of our work across the community.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Planning and delivering marketing and communications campaigns.
- Managing and growing our social media presence across platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
- Creating engaging written, visual and digital content using tools such as Canva or similar design platforms.
- Planning and scheduling content to support campaigns, events and organisational milestones.
- Maintaining a consistent brand identity across all communications.
- Supporting the promotion of volunteer opportunities, fundraising initiatives and community events.
- Monitoring engagement and identifying opportunities to improve our reach, visibility and impact.
- Working collaboratively with our founding volunteer team to ensure all communications reflect S.W.U.G.'s vision, values and objectives.
As a Founding Volunteer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how S.W.U.G. is recognised within the community. Your creativity and expertise will help establish a trusted brand, strengthen community engagement and support the long-term growth of an organisation dedicated to empowering young people through positive opportunities.
