JOB DESCRIPTION
This position works out of our Maidenhead location in the Core Diagnostics Division. We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.
We are looking for a highly motivated Finance Business Partner (FP&A) to provide critical financial planning and analysis support across UK/I. This role plays a key part in driving financial performance, enabling commercial decision-making, and ensuring robust financial governance.
You will partner closely with business leaders, acting as a trusted advisor while leading regional FP&A processes, reporting, and consolidation activities.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead regional FP&A processes including planning cycles, forecasting, and consolidation
- Own and deliver accurate and compliant month-end close activities
- Analyse monthly financial performance and provide actionable insights
- Implement and maintain planning, reporting, and analysis frameworks
Business Partnering & Commercial Support
- Partner with senior leaders to drive accountability and financial performance
- Support customer negotiations (tenders, renewals, KPIs, disputes)
- Provide financial input into acquisition opportunities and renewal evaluations
- Leverage data to enhance margin analysis and support commercial decision-making

Performance Management & Controls
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial targets across the region
- Drive profitability and capital-efficient growth initiatives
- Ensure strong balance sheet management and financial discipline
- Maintain a robust controls environment aligned with company policies and IFRS
Systems & Process Excellence
- Oversee financial systems (SAP, HFM, Cognos, etc.) and ensure data integrity
- Support audits and ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Drive process improvements and efficiency initiatives
About You
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field
- Master’s degree or professional accounting qualification (preferred)
Experience
- Experience in a Commercial Finance / FP&A role
- Healthcare or Diagnostics industry experience (advantageous)
- Strong track record of business partnering and delivering results
Skills & Competencies
- Strong commercial acumen with a customer-focused mindset
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence and collaborate across a matrix organisation
- Resilient, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Advanced MS Office and SAP expertise
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)
