IncubatorLab is looking for a talented FP&A - Accounting Finance Lead, to join our thriving team!
Role Objective
This is a builder's role, and a hybrid one. You'll own accounting and close alongside budgeting, forecasting, and reporting infrastructure where very little currently exists, and you'll be the financial modeling voice in decisions about SKU strategy, retail pricing, and channel expansion. You'll report to our CEO, working closely with our Head of Data.
What You’ll Do
- Own full-charge bookkeeping, monthly close, and accurate financial statement preparation.
- Establish COGS tracking by channel and product.
- Build and own company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting.
- Design and maintain a retail-specific contribution margin model, accounting for distribution, trade marketing, slotting, and other retail cost structures distinct from DTC.
- Partner directly with the founding team on the financial logic behind retail expansion decisions: pricing, door count, SKU selection.
- Establish labor cost and budget tracking by business unit, tied to marketing efficiency metrics (CAC, LTV, MER).
- Lay the groundwork for the finance function's future structure, including team build-out as scope expands.
What We Are Looking For
- Solid accounting fundamentals, comfortable owning books and close independently as the company's first dedicated finance hire.
- Experience owning FP&A at a growth-stage consumer/DTC brand, ideally as an early or founding finance hire.
- Direct experience modeling retail unit economics, you understand why velocity and margin (not price matching) are what determine retail success.
- Comfort building and formalizing infrastructure and process across both accounting and FP&A.
- A track record of communicating financial complexity in terms non-finance stakeholders act on.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
