FP&A Analyst

Our FP&A team helps Zopa make better decisions by turning financial performance into clear, practical insight. This role will work closely with colleagues across lending, savings, and current accounts, helping them understand how their products are performing and what may happen next.

You will initially work closely with our Senior FP&A Manager, supporting analysis and business conversations. As you build product knowledge and trust, you will have the opportunity to take more ownership of the story behind the numbers and the conversations that shape future plans.

A day in the life

  • Analyse product performance against plan across lending, savings, and current accounts.
  • Investigate variances across the P&L and balance sheet and explain what is driving them.
  • Build clear narratives that help stakeholders understand product economics and performance.
  • Identify emerging risks and opportunities, bringing them into planning discussions early.
  • Support scenario analysis and forward-looking projections for product teams.
  • Work with FP&A and product colleagues to test assumptions and improve decision-making.
  • Balance direct-cost analysis, product economics, and wider financial performance priorities.
  • Manage competing requests while meeting the deadlines that matter in the planning cycle.
  • Ask thoughtful questions, escalate issues appropriately, and keep improving how the analysis is delivered.

About you

  • Have experience in banking or financial services.
  • Bring hands-on FP&A, financial planning, and forecasting experience.
  • Understand how to interpret financial information across the P&L and balance sheet.
  • Explain business and financial drivers in a way that supports practical decisions.
  • Partner well with product or commercial stakeholders.
  • Use curiosity to investigate issues, challenge assumptions, and spot what needs further attention.
  • Have an understanding of financial modelling and scenario analysis.
  • Handle ambiguity, multiple priorities, and planning-cycle deadlines with care.
  • Take ownership of problems and make a sensible first attempt at solving them.
  • Want to keep learning and develop your influence over time.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our approach to AI in interviews

At Zopa, AI isn't something we're testing out—it's part of how we work every day. As a proud partner of Jobs 2030, we're committed to building AI fluency across our workforce, and we expect Zopians to use AI as part of how they do their jobs. Because of that, we want to be transparent about how we think about AI use during our hiring process.

Behavioural and competency-based interviews: Please don't use AI. These conversations are designed to understand you—your experiences, your judgment, and how you've approached real situations. An AI-generated answer can't tell us that. What it can do is get in the way of us finding out whether we're the right fit for each other.

Technical interviews: It depends on the role. Some technical stages actively welcome AI use, others don't. Your Talent Partner will let you know what's expected at each stage. Where AI is part of the assessment, we'll be interested not just in the outcome, but in how you used it—the tools you chose, your reasoning, and the decisions you made along the way.
