The Opportunity

FP&A team drives the divisional forecast, bottom-up annual budgeting and strategic planning processes as well as delivering operating plan variance / gap analysis and assisting on ad-hoc / special projects.

Main challenge is to continue to provide sound financial planning and thoughtful analysis that supports strategic decision-making and tells the financial story of the International Division whilst adapting to the fast-changing business conditions that come with unpredictable futures. Ensure to deliver complete, consistent and in time financial numbers.

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Prepare and synthesize the groundwork for monthly financial and business performance results reporting to senior management
  • Prepare and assist in the development and issuance of periodically and ad-hoc financial information gathering process and reporting package (reconciling and interpreting complex financial data)
  • System controls: Responsibilities include stabilizing data integrity and feed (e.g. Hyperion, HFM and Targit BI)
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances
  • Communicate findings in a timely matter within the FP&A team and other stakeholders
  • Support FP&A Director in leading the MRP and budget for the international business including annual planning, re-forecasting and long-term strategic planning models
  • Provide accurate, timely, and actionable financial reporting and key business metrics, providing senior management with insights and trends or anomalies
  • Critical interaction: Liaise with Financial analyst EMEA, Finance Directors within the International markets and senior commercial stakeholders
  • Delivery on ad hoc reporting requests as required
  • Process optimization: Take an active role in developing efficiency and streamlining of reporting and business analytics and perform other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

Here at Dechra we pride ourselves on being an inclusive employer. We know that individuals' unique background and experience can bring a wealth of variety and expertise to our global workforce. For this role, we're particularly keen to hear from those who have/are:

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent), or QBE with significant relevant experience
  • 7+ years relevant finance experience, with a strong track record in FP&A, commercial finance, management reporting or business partnering
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economic, Business or a related discipline desirable but not essential
  • Significant experience in FP&A, commercial finance or management reporting, ideally within pharma, healthcare, FMCG or another complex international environment
  • Proven experience of monthly performance reporting, forecasting and variance analysis, with a strong understanding of P&L drivers
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability, with the ability to understand market, customer and competitive drivers and translate these into meaningful insights
  • Demonstrable experience of business partnering with senior stakeholders, including the confidence to challenge performance and influence decision making
  • Experience working across multiple countries, with strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with experience of ERP and reporting tools; able to simplify complex data into clear, actionable messages

  • This role is based in Northwich / hybrid
