Join the rebellion against bland.

We’re on a mission to rid the world of generic sentiment. To make it more thortful. One brilliantly specific card at a time.

Rulebook? Shmulebook.

We’re not looking for followers. We’re looking for smart, opinionated, high-performing humans who challenge the status quo. Kindly.

People who:

  • Back themselves.
  • Push ideas further.
  • Take smart risks (not reckless ones).
  • Have strong opinions, lightly held.
  • And are, crucially, good to work with. (No brilliant jerks. Life’s too short.)

We’re transforming a category. That takes ambition, focus, and character. If you want to hide in the middle, we’re not your people. If you want to help shape what comes next, pull up a chair.

Who we are

We’re thortful, an online greetings card marketplace powered by 6,000+ independent creators.

With 85,000+ brilliantly original cards (and some properly good gifts), we help people find that “so us” connection, from milestone birthdays to “congrats on the boob job” moments.

We’re not just another disruptor (ugh). We actually mean it.

  • We back real humans – Every sale puts real money into the pockets of independent creators.
  • Born in Sheffield – Our print-on-demand model means no warehouses full of waste. Every card, like Sean Bean, is born in Sheffield.
  • Recyclable as standard – 100% recyclable. Even though they’re good enough to frame.
  • Vegan inks – Because David Attenborough raised us better than that.
  • Carbon-conscious – Through our sustainability partner Ecologi, we’ve funded 4,450 trees and avoided 630.04 tonnes of CO₂e. We also use lower-carbon delivery partners, including DPD and Royal Mail.

We care about people. We care about purpose. We care about proper lovely bits of folded paper.

Who we’re looking for

The challengers. The smart risk‑takers. The go‑getters who know progress beats perfection.

The ones who’d rather ask “why not?” than “are we allowed?” Who speak up with honesty, clarity, and kindness. Who do what they say they’re going to do. Brave and thoughtful.

Ambitious but decent. Fearlessly original. Endlessly curious. Collaborative. Low ego. High standards.

If you’re tired of being a cog in a faceless machine and want to actually make a dent, we should talk.

Let’s make the world more thortful.

The role

This is a newly created position sitting at the heart of how thortful runs its business. As FP&A Analyst you will support the financial planning and analysis cycle, contributing to the forecasting, trading, and reporting outputs that keep the business sharp and leadership well-informed. You will work closely with the Head of FP&A, with real visibility into how financial decisions get made and plenty of room to grow into greater responsibility over time.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We are looking for someone who takes initiative, learns quickly, and brings both technical precision and commercial curiosity to their work. This is a role for someone who finds the business interesting, not just the numbers, and who is eager to develop in a hands-on environment where the work is varied and meaningful. You will be joining a collaborative, high-trust team where good work is recognised and there is genuine scope to build your skills and take on more as you grow into the role.

What you’ll be doing

Financial planning and forecasting

  • Support the forecasting cycle, building and maintaining financial models across P&L, revenue, and margin that are accurate, well-structured, and stakeholder-ready
  • Assist with scenario analysis and sensitivity modelling, supporting commercial decision making across pricing, promotions, and category investment
  • Support the annual budget process, helping to gather inputs and update models as the plan comes together
  • Develop a deep understanding of Thortful's revenue drivers, cost structure, and the levers that move them

Trading and performance reporting

  • Prepare weekly and monthly trading reports with clear commentary, tracking performance against budget and reforecast across revenue, basket metrics, and subscription KPIs
  • Contribute to the board pack financial section, helping to produce materials that are clear, accurate, and well-structured
  • Deliver category and channel performance analysis covering cards, gifting, and XTRAthortful, identifying trends and flagging risks and opportunities proactively
  • Monitor and report on key subscription metrics including activation, retention, and cohort performance

Commercial analysis and business partnering

  • Work with marketing, gifting, and commercial teams to provide financial analysis that supports campaign evaluation, promotional planning, and investment decisions
  • Support business cases for new initiatives, helping to structure assumptions, sensitivities, and return profiles clearly
  • Respond to ad hoc analytical requests quickly and accurately, with the judgement to know what level of rigour each question actually requires
  • Bring a point of view to the numbers, not just the numbers themselves

About you

Essential

  • Strong financial modelling skills, with the ability to build clean, flexible models from scratch in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Experience of financial analysis, forecasting, or budgeting in a commercial environment, and an eagerness to develop further
  • Commercially sharp and genuinely curious about how the business works, with the instinct to connect financial outputs to business outcomes
  • A clear and confident communicator, able to present financial analysis in plain language, with support from the Head of FP&A for senior stakeholder interactions
  • Highly organised and self-directed, comfortable managing multiple workstreams and delivering to tight deadlines without close supervision
