Clyde Munro is looking to build on the positive political position where the Scottish Government has invested significant amounts of money in NHS dentistry. Clyde Munro is deeply committed to increasing patient access to dental services through a combination of optimising the existing estate, expanding surgeries, building new surgeries and selective acquisitions.
Investec acquired the business from Synova in March 2025 and are now supporting in the next phase of growth. The team is led by Jim Hall (CEO) and Chris Howell (Non-Executive Chairman). Synova’s investment facilitated the platform acquisition of a group of practices based in the West of Scotland and provided significant further capital for investment to build the leading dental group in Scotland. Currently, Clyde Munro has 64 practices and over 300 dentists serving over 350,000 patients across Scotland. Current revenues are over £65m per annum and the business employs c. 500 people.

The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced finance team at an important stage in Clyde Munro’s growth. Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, the FP&A Business Partner will play a central role in strengthening forecasting, performance reporting and commercial decision support.
The role will work closely with finance, operations and other functional teams to explain performance drivers, identify risks and opportunities, and turn complex data into clear actions. It combines recurring planning and reporting responsibilities with project-based analysis and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will gain broad exposure across a multi-site healthcare business and to a private equity ownership environment. The position offers scope to develop leadership capability, commercial judgement and business partnering experience, with a clear platform for future progression within finance.
Job Description
The FP&A Business Partner will support the Head of FP&A in delivering a high-quality planning, performance and insight function. Key responsibilities include:
Planning and forecasting
- Own and coordinate defined elements of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts and longer-range planning process.
- Maintain robust, integrated forecast models covering profit and loss, cash flow and key operational drivers.
- Work with budget holders to challenge assumptions, improve forecast accuracy and ensure clear ownership of plans.
- Prepare scenario and sensitivity analysis to support commercial choices and risk management.
Performance reporting and insight
- Analyse actual performance against budget, forecast and prior periods, clearly explaining material variances.
- Identify trends, risks and opportunities across revenue, margin, labour and operating costs.
- Develop actionable KPIs that connect financial outcomes with operational drivers at group and practice level.
Commercial business partnering
- Build effective relationships with operational leaders and budget holders, providing constructive challenge and practical financial support.
- Deliver analysis for pricing, revenue growth, productivity, cost control and other commercial initiatives.
- Translate complex analysis into clear recommendations, decisions and follow-up actions.
Data, systems and continuous improvement
- Improve the quality, consistency and efficiency of FP&A models, reporting processes and controls.
- Support the development and adoption of Power BI reporting and self-service insight.
- Work with finance and operational teams to improve data definitions, reporting discipline and confidence in the numbers.
Team and finance contribution
- Collaborate with the Financial Control team to ensure management reporting reflects a clear understanding of month-end results.
- Provide analysis and supporting information for audit, investor and lender requirements when requested.
- Contribute to wider finance projects and improvement initiatives led by the Head of FP&A.
The Candidate
We are looking for a commercially minded finance professional who combines strong analytical capability with sound accounting judgement and an engaging, practical approach to business partnering. The post-holder will be comfortable working at pace, managing competing priorities and maintaining high standards of accuracy.

Essential requirements:
- Qualified accountant (CA, CIMA or ACCA), with 3+ years Post Qualified Experience.
- Demonstrable experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial analysis.
- Strong Excel capability, including building and maintaining integrated financial models.
- Ability to interpret financial and operational data, identify the key message and recommend practical actions.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with confidence presenting to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and a consistent record of meeting deadlines.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to adapt in a changing environment.
Desirable experience:
- Experience in a multi-site, healthcare, consumer or other operationally complex business.
- Experience of Power BI or similar business intelligence and visualisation tools.
- Exposure to private equity, acquisitions, business cases or investment appraisal.
- Previous Business Partnering Experience
Role requirements:
- Professionally qualified accountant: CA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent, ideally with four years’ PQE.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, with experience of financial control, month-end reporting, statutory accounts, audit and compliance.
- Experience leading and developing a finance team, bringing energy, clear values and the ability to inspire confidence and respect.
- Able to work closely with the CFO, Head of FP&A, SLT, investors, auditors and external advisers.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to deliver accurate and timely results in a fast-paced environment.
- Results driven and respect for deadlines. Remains calm when under pressure.
- Proven ability to lead teams, coordinate projects and own the solution and outcome when resolving challenges.
- Forward-looking and improvement-oriented, with the ability to modernise finance processes, systems, reporting and ways of working.

- £55,000- £65,000 dependent upon Experience.
