Role Overview
Partnered with a Family Office Investment Group who are seeking a senior FP&A, Cash and Investment Strategy Specialist to partner closely with the CFO. This opportunity places you at the heart of groupwide cash generation, deployment, and optimisation, blending treasury, market analysis, investment assessment, and strategic planning. Unlike traditional FP&A or PE roles, this position focuses on forward-looking strategy and interpretation rather than routine transaction processing.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an overarching view of groupwide cash inflows and outflows, identifying short-term users, medium-term breakeven points, and long-term generators across business units.
- Assess whether the group is correctly capitalised for both stability and growth by analysing surplus cash deployment strategies including yield-focused credit options and equity investments.
- Deconstruct existing and prospective investments to understand true return drivers beyond mechanical model outputs, comparing opportunities across corporate bond, credit, and equity markets.
- Interpret interest rate volatility, credit spreads, and FX exposures to translate market movements into actionable group-level implications.
- Support reviews of external investment managers by assessing activities for consolidation, reduction, or potential in-house trading capability development.
- Evaluate alignment of the current portfolio with the group's three-to-five-year strategic plan by identifying steady-state assumptions and areas for optimisation or capital redeployment.
- Facilitate scenarios where cash can be actively recycled between businesses rather than remaining idle to maximise value creation.
- Apply judgement to complex situations involving multiple factors between investment outcomes, identifying genuine issues or opportunities through analytical interpretation.
- Act as a trusted thought partner to the CFO by translating complex analysis into clear commercial insights that support executive decision-making.
- Continuously improve internal financial reporting processes by enhancing accuracy, efficiency, automation, and developing dashboards using visualisation tools.

Requirements
- 4-10+ years' experience in investment banking treasury markets or corporate finance ideally within complex multi-entity groups.
- Strong exposure to cash flow capital structures and market analysis rather than purely accounting-led FP&A roles.
- ACA CFA or equivalent professional qualification preferred demonstrating advanced financial acumen.
- Deep understanding of cash compounding return generation and capital deployment in real-world business contexts.
- Ability to interpret credit equity and market data effectively using Bloomberg Excel PowerPoint; familiarity with Power BI dashboards is advantageous.
- Exceptional analytical skills enabling you to dissect investments strategies identify risks opportunities beyond surface-level metrics.
- Collaborative pragmatic approach with proven ability to interact across diverse businesses finance teams investment professionals external advisors.
- High level of integrity professionalism discretion commitment to confidentiality essential for success within culturally diverse flat structured organisations.
