The Opportunity
Finatal has partnered with a private equity-backed technology business generating approximately £30m of revenue and £5m EBITDA. Operating internationally, the company has developed a market-leading software and data platform serving a highly specialised global sector, helping customers improve operational performance, procurement efficiency and decision-making through advanced technology solutions.
Backed by an experienced investor and with ambitious growth plans, the business is entering a key phase of its development. Having invested heavily in both technology and commercial expansion, the leadership team is seeking an FP&A Director to help build a best-in-class finance function capable of supporting future growth, operational scaling and value creation.
This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious finance leader to step into a highly visible role within a fast-growing business where they can influence strategic decision-making, improve financial planning capabilities and partner directly with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
The Role
Reporting into the CFO and working closely with senior leadership, the FP&A Director will take ownership of the planning, forecasting and performance management processes across the business.

The successful candidate will act as the commercial finance lead, providing meaningful insight into business performance, supporting strategic initiatives and helping management make informed decisions as the company continues to scale internationally.
This role requires a combination of strong analytical capability, commercial acumen and the ability to operate effectively within a dynamic private equity-backed environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes.
- Develop robust financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Produce insightful monthly management reporting and KPI analysis.
- Deliver variance analysis and actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Support board reporting and investor communications.
- Partner with commercial and operational leaders to improve business performance.
- Develop and enhance financial planning, reporting and forecasting processes.
- Drive a data-led approach to performance management across the organisation.
- Provide financial support for growth initiatives, strategic projects and investment decisions.
- Improve visibility around revenue performance, profitability, cash generation and operational metrics.
- Support finance transformation projects, systems enhancements and reporting automation.
- Assist the CFO with value creation initiatives and future strategic planning activities.

Candidate Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven FP&A, commercial finance or strategic finance experience.
- Previous experience within a software, technology, SaaS or private equity-backed environment is highly desirable.
- Strong financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting capabilities.
- Experience presenting analysis and recommendations to senior leadership teams.
- Commercially minded with the ability to translate complex financial information into strategic insight.
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
- Comfortable operating within a growing, evolving and entrepreneurial business.
- Self-starter capable of thriving in a largely remote working environment.
