FP&A Lead | 6-month contract | £80k to £85k | September start

We are partnering with a consumer goods business to recruit an Interim FP&A Lead for an initial six-month contract. This is a high-impact role for an experienced FP&A professional who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced start-up environment. The successful candidate will take ownership of the company-wide annual budgeting process and provide the financial insight required to support growth and improve performance. Experience working within an inventory-led business is essential. This could include retail, consumer goods, e-commerce, manufacturing, wholesale or distribution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial planning and budgeting - Own the annual budgeting process and quarterly re-forecasting cycle end-to-end: coordinating inputs from across the business and producing consolidated plans that are grounded in commercial reality.
  • Management reporting - Work closely with the Financial Controller to understand actual performance and build a feedback loop that helps to improve our forecasts.
  • Commercial analysis - Be the go-to person for deep-dive commercial analysis: from channel profitability and customer economics to new market or product launch modelling.
  • KPI framework - Own and develop our KPI framework, working cross-functionally to ensure financial and operational metrics are well-defined, consistently reported and genuinely used. You'll champion the single source of truth.
  • Long-range planning - Maintain the long-range financial model, supporting fundraising processes, strategic planning and scenario analysis as the business evolves.
  • Business partnering - Be embedded with the growth and retail teams, helping them understand the financial impact of their decisions, manage their budgets and identify opportunities to drive growth and efficiency.
  • Finance transformation - Work closely with the Financial Controller and the Data Lead to connect FP&A to the core financial data, improving the speed, accuracy and automation of our planning and reporting processes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
