FP&A Manager - COS

Overview

We're looking for an experienced FP&A professional with a strong track record of leading planning, forecasting and performance management activities within a complex commercial environment. This role requires someone who can quickly establish credibility, take ownership of key FP&A processes from day one and provide high-quality financial insight that supports strategic decision-making.

You'll work with senior leaders to translate business plans into robust financial forecasts, challenge assumptions and drive improved financial performance through rigorous analysis and forward-looking insight.

This role is best suited to an established FP&A professional who has successfully operated in a lead FP&A capacity and can demonstrate a track record of quickly adding value, influencing decision-making and driving improved forecasting and planning outcomes.

Location

Commutable distance to London / Winchester 1 or 2 days per week

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead end-to-end budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes across the Cost of Sales portfolio, ensuring robust financial plans and clear accountability for delivery.
  • Develop integrated financial forecasts that support operational and commercial decision-making.
  • Provide insightful analysis of business performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities that support improved decision-making.
  • Work closely with finance business partners to understand business drivers and support translation into financial outcomes.
  • Challenge assumptions and provide financial rigour to ensure plans are realistic, achievable and aligned to business objectives.
  • Support the Senior Head of FP&A and senior leadership teams with scenario modelling, investment analysis and strategic planning activities.
  • Deliver meaningful variance analysis and performance reporting, helping stakeholders understand financial performance against plan.
  • Identify and implement improvements to FP&A processes, models and reporting, driving greater forecast accuracy, planning effectiveness and decision support
  • Act as the FP&A lead for the assigned area, ensuring high-quality financial planning, forecasting and performance management disciplines are consistently applied.
  • Support the development of best-in-class FP&A capability across the organisation.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
  • Significant experience within FP&A, commercial finance or finance business partnering roles, with a proven track record of leading planning, forecasting and performance management activities.
  • Demonstrable experience taking ownership of complex planning cycles and delivering high-quality outputs with minimal onboarding or supervision.
  • Extensive experience leading budgeting, rolling forecasts and planning processes
  • Excellent financial modelling and analytical capability.
  • Demonstrable experience providing financial insight and challenge to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience improving FP&A processes, forecasting methodologies or planning tools to enhance business performance and decision making
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to connect operational performance to financial outcomes.
  • Ability to influence, challenge and build credibility across a broad stakeholder community.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems expertise, with experience using modern reporting and planning tools.
  • Ideally 5+ years post-qualified experience within a commercial or corporate environment.
