Who are we?π
Look at the latest headlines and you will see something Ki insures. Think space shuttles, world tours, wind farms, and even footballers' legs.
Ki's mission is simple. Digitally disrupt and revolutionise a 335-year-old market. Working with Google and UCL, Ki has created a platform that uses algorithms, machine learning and large language models to give insurance brokers quotes in seconds, rather than days.
Ki is proudly the biggest global algorithmic insurance carrier. It is the fastest growing syndicate in the Lloyd's of London market, and the first ever to make $100m in profit in 3 years.
Ki's teams have varied backgrounds and work together in an agile, cross-functional way to build the very best experience for its customers. Ki has big ambitions but needs more excellent minds to challenge the status-quo and help it reach new horizons.
Where you come in?
We're an algorithmic underwriting business transforming the insurance market through technology, data, and innovation.
In this role, you'll sit within our FP&A function and play a central role in driving financial planning, forecasting, management reporting, and capital insight across Ki. You'll own key planning and reporting workstreams, partnering with stakeholders across Finance, Underwriting, Actuarial, Capital Modelling, Outwards Reinsurance, and Technology to support informed decision-making.
This position combines technical financial expertise with commercial insight, helping us understand performance, evaluate growth opportunities, and improve capital efficiency. Working closely with senior stakeholders, including Executive Committee members, you'll contribute directly to shaping our strategic decisions and our long-term financial direction.
What you will be doing: ποΈ
- Manage and co-lead core planning and forecasting processes across the P&L, including premium, outwards reinsurance, loss ratios, commission and investment returns, supporting the delivery of the five-year plan, Syndicate Business Forecast, Financial Year Plan and periodic reforecasts.
- Produce, enhance and continually improve management reporting and financial insight provided to Executive Committee members, shareholders and senior stakeholders, translating complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Lead analysis to improve capital efficiency within the planning process, assessing how business growth, portfolio mix, loss ratios, reinsurance structures and expenses influence capital utilisation and returns.
- Partner closely with Underwriting, Actuarial, Capital Modelling, Outwards Reinsurance and Technology teams to incorporate business assumptions into forecasts, collaborating on outputs where appropriate and ensuring robust planning processes.
- Present plans, forecasts and financial analysis to senior stakeholders, providing constructive feedback while maintaining positive, collaborative relationships across the business.
- Develop and maintain visual reporting, dashboards and self-service analytics tools that enhance business understanding and support data-driven decision-making.
- Contribute to ROI frameworks and financial evaluations supporting underwriting and strategic investment decisions.
- Support the ongoing evolution of FP&A processes through automation, technology adoption and continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, accuracy and scalability.
- Provide resilience and cross-functional support across FP&A activities, including expense management and reporting, ensuring effective coverage during peak periods and business-critical cycles.

Iβm in my final year doing Economics and I donβt know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer β it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donβt need a masters. Letβs look at the ones youβd be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
