Your New Company

A well-established and growing professional services organisation is seeking an experienced FP&A Manager to join its finance team based in Exeter. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a developing finance function, providing financial insight and strategic support to senior leadership and key stakeholders across the business.

Your New Role

As FP&A Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial planning, analysis, forecasting, and reporting to support strategic decision-making. Working closely with finance colleagues and operational stakeholders, you will provide meaningful financial insight to maximize performance, support investment decisions, and contribute to business transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes across the business.
  • Producing weekly, monthly, and quarterly management reports, including detailed variance analysis.
  • Analyzing revenue, gross margin, operating costs, and overhead expenditure, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Supporting workforce planning and resource capacity analysis to ensure the business is well-positioned to meet operational demands and future growth opportunities.
  • Developing and enhancing financial reporting tools, dashboards, and planning systems to improve automation and reporting efficiency.
  • Supporting finance transformation and continuous improvement projects.
  • Identifying financial and operational risks and implementing appropriate controls and mitigation strategies.
  • Partnering with operational and commercial teams to provide timely financial analysis that supports informed decision-making.

What You'll Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified finance professional with strong commercial awareness and excellent analytical skills. You will be confident engaging with senior stakeholders and presenting financial information clearly and effectively.

You will ideally possess:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Previous experience in an FP&A, commercial finance, or financial analysis role.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong financial modelling capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • A proactive and inquisitive approach with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience supporting senior leadership teams.

Desirable experience includes:

  • Financial planning and reporting systems implementation.
  • Power BI and Power Query.
  • Experience of finance systems and reporting tools.
  • Previous experience working within a collaborative, fast-paced finance team.
